I find it bizarre that there was no mention of this being basically a recovery hospital. Pulled into hospital complex very surprised. Thinking I had booked a regular hotel. Many wheelchairs, iv and oxygen patients in lobby at check in, I have no problem with this- I just felt as if I were intruding and very out of place. Room was immaculate and comfortable. Very clean, quiet and comfortable until the helicopter started landing basically right outside my window. Exciting to watch, I guess? I had to disassociate to keep from thinking about why that was happening to be able to sleep. This review is not meant to be callous to those who were there, had family or loved ones there, more of a bizarre and unexpected experience. Had no idea I was basically booking a room at the Ronald McDonald house. Just wish I would have known what I was walking into.

The hotel was beautiful but tricky to find. It’s actually attached to a hospital. The staff was great, the beds were comfortable, it is extremely clean and the large windows are awesome. I would not recommend the “buffet” breakfast. It is a basic continental breakfast similar to most hotels. The location is pretty close to downtown Sioux Falls. There is a bar with a decent happy hour.

Beautiful hotel! Check in was easy. Room was really nice with large windows. Bed was comfy and bathroom was clean. My only complaint was that the sheets and towels have a strong smell and there was blood or something staining the comforter right at the head of the bed. Other than that it was great.

I travel often for work and wasn't previously aware of this new hotel. The Highpoint is associated with the Sanford Health/University of South Dakota Medical campus. I am always impressed by forward-thinking concepts that address needs. In this case, the hotel provides support for patient family/friends, visiting medical professionals and potential students, and business travelers looking for professional, quiet accommodations centrally located. The hotel is affordably priced with an upscale feeling in lobbies and rooms. The city views are tremendous. The highpoint is a great choice for business and personal stays.
