All aspects of the hotel are fine, but you are getting a very small room in which you will be crashing into anyone else staying with you. If you can live with the fact that only one person can move around at a time, and you will sometimes find it hard to find a spot to put your stuff on (besides the bed), this is a great place to stay. For me, the great central location, and usually a reasonable piece (for Singapore) make up for the shortcomings. I will stay there again.

This hotel is well-located in the Orchard Road shopping area, and not too far from Orchard MRT station. It's a bit clunky to get to the main reception desk from the street (though there's a narrow staircase and a lift). The rooms are not huge, but bigger than in Tokyo, and the space is well-used (though a chair was lacking). If you skip housekeeping for a day, you get an $8 voucher for the restaurant/bar. Sometimes there's a line for service, but self-serve kiosks are available for check-in/check-out. Gym and pool are convenient - somewhat small but adequate.

I chose YOTEL Orchard for a one-week trip to Singapore because of its location across the street from the Orchard MRT station. I expected a small room with minimal furnishings. I was pleasantly surprised by how well-equipped and efficiently designed my queen room was. It had everything I needed, felt brand new, and was very comfortable. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The lap pool and fitness room provide a good workout. The restaurant has good healthy meals and great service. All at a very reasonable price for the heart of downtown Singapore.
