I often stay at the Venue, which has a number of sister properties (Venue Classic, Venue Lily, Sakura by Venue) in the Joo Chiat neighborhood and represents good value for money (important if you stay scores of nights per year). The core members of staff are friendly and competent, and the rooms are decent. You're not going to confuse the Venue with the Mandarin Oriental, but you're going to save hundreds of dollars over the Mandarin, so suck it up. I like the Joo Chiat area, which is one of Singapore's few remaining neighborhoods with historical charm. Lots of good Vietnamese food on the street as well, and East Coast Park is only around a kilometer away. Recommended if you're looking for a budget hotel.

Spent a few days in Singapore, and this hotel was ideal, lovely staff, rooms were small but couldn’t complain at this price point. Best thing about the hotel was it’s location right in the middle of lots of wonderful restaurants shops and bars, a great place to explore, and very good public transport links nearby.

Lovely hotel in great location. Staff are amazing too. Rooms are a bit small and lack natural light but comfortable with good shower. Theres a light under the bed yhat created just enough to see things in the night without being bright. Purified water tap in bathroom for day to day use too. Katong area is beautiful and Joo chiat rd is quiet and has many eateries and shops.
