PROS - Conveniently located in the CBD and steps from Chinatown. - The convenience of having an underground link (check out the beautiful murals) from the hotel to the MRT (DT18) and the close proximity to other MRT stations/lines. The train from DT18 connects to Changi Airport. - The hotel access key card not only unlocked the room door but provides security when transporting to another floor via the (10) elevators which are readily available. - Housekeeping was always friendly and helpful. He took immediate action when I noticed ants on the desk and checked again later to confirm the problem was resolved. - The staff on the main level (at Reception & by the elevators) was friendly and helpful. - The room was clean and quiet, and the pillows provided had different firmness levels. CONS - It took several attempts before someone answered the phone when I dialed “O” to report that the lift rod was broken and water in the sink wasn’t being released. Waited over an hour before someone came to check but didn’t repair. Again, Housekeeping came to my rescue when I explained the problem. In the meantime, I had to brush my teeth over the toilet. - The volume for the tv was preset to a specific maximum level and could not be increased to a level that I could hear.

My husband and I stayed for 3nts/2days before our cruise. Our room, though a bit smaller but good enough for 2 adults with 2 large suitcases, was very clean. We requested for some more coffee/tea packs and delivered right away. Check-in was quick, we were given a room with a pool view, staff very nice and accommodating, lobby was also kept clean and beautiful. We liked how easy it was to get to your room from the elevator just by tapping your card and it will tell you which elevator to go, easy-peasy! And the breakfast options, wow! Huge variety, buffet well presented, food really delicious! We will certainly book this hotel again when we go back to Singapore, very highly recommended!

Room was the smallest I’ve ever seen, and it was an “upgraded” queen room. There was a loud popping noise that happened every 5 minutes as if the building were settling. The electricity would go off for a few seconds multiple times a day, and when it did, it reset the AC. So when it happened at night I’d wake up sweating from the heat. It was obnoxious. I can live with these typical hotel issues. But the real problem was that they messed up my booking, “fixed” it for $72, and then when it still wasn’t correct 3 days later my room key stopped working and they spent 30 minutes “fixing” it again. Meanwhile, the manager and both agents I spoke to were clueless and brushed off my request for the $72 back. One of my worst hotel experiences ever.
