The property location is great but do NOT book a room in the new wing as the photos were very deceiving. This is the first hotel I've stayed in without any windows (why were there curtains to cover a wall?) and the room was so small my carry on was basically a foot away from the bed. The worst part was the toilet was 2 inches from the wall so you couldn't even sit down (I'm only 5'1) and you couldn't open the bathroom and the shower doors at the same time because of the poor layout. Most of the staff was pleasant but when I kindly asked one of them not to say my room number out loud (for safety reasons), she responded "your room is in the next building" and left me to figure out the rest upon check in.

Really Spacious room. Lovely staff. A little bit tired but clean. But…did I mention the spacious room. Great location. Easy walking distance. Great base for a 5 day stay. Hop on hop off bus stop 3 min walk. MTR stations all around. Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, Raffles,Chinatown all easy to walk to even for an Old Boomer!

Good position for exploring via the MRT

Friendly check in staff and lovely comfy bed. Great shower with hand held and drench heads. Hotel was a bit worn. The corridor carpets were quite stained, could do with a freshen up and refurb in places.

The rooms are very small. But they are very clean and have all you need. The wifi was really bad which was the biggest issue. If you don't mind small, and can find wifi somewhere else, the hotel is great. Staff was very kind, location is great.

Great area, but rooms tiny and run down. Bed hard as a slab of stone. Don’t bother with the ‘breakfast’ which is basic and to be consumed only with a plastic fork and plastic spoon (no knife) on a polystyrene plate. Mould in the bathroom. Don’t recommend.

Deluxe Garden Quern room deceptively portrayed

Original booking was for Deluxe Garden Queen, boasting 42 sq m room. On arrival at hotel, found that the actual room (on my measurements) was approx 16-17 sq m. The difference was 2 bathrooms and yard all included in the 42sq m. There was not enough floor space for two suitcases, let alone two people - no wardrobe - only hanging space was above the toilet (you would have to push clothes aside to use the toilet. One bathroom and the yard were outside in Singapore heat of approx 31deg. The yard was open to the weather and next to a construction site - not really usable. I consider this room was described very deceptively on the Hotels.com app. In defence of the hotel, they understood our concerns, and moved us to a similarly priced room which was a good size. Our stay was good with the following exceptions Airconditioning was not able to get the room cool enough Wi-Fi was very unreliable

Value accommodation for layover

Good location of hotel for travellers for a short stay in Singapore, air conditioning isn’t as cool as we’d hoped and the breakfast isn’t anything to rave about as a westerner! But certainly did the job and allowed us to explore Singapore at lower cost compared to other accommodation options in the city, the staff were also very polite and accommodating. Recommended

We booked a Deluxe Superior room for one night. When we booked the photograph of the room is what we expected on arrival. This was not the case. The room did not have a bench and chair and mirror. It was tiny. We had to walk over our suitcases. It was in the new wing. It had been refurnished and was clean. A disappointment Wotif.Hotel Bencoolen @ HongKong Singapore. The bonus was the hotel was close to the canal and there was plenty of food outlets.
