We only stayed one night here at the end of a week-long October trip and wished we could have stayed longer. Wow! This was an absolutely beautiful property and the service was top- notch. We booked a room in the newer William Boyd Center that had a balcony overlooking the lake. The balcony had two rocking chairs to sit in and enjoy the incredible view. One thing to know is that this property is somewhat remote feeling and the parking lot is a long walk from the rooms. They do offer golf cart rides if needed. Eating in their dining room makes the most sense logistically, so we had both dinner and breakfast here. The food was good, with some variety, but nothing fancy. We were here at the end of the season, so things were very quiet. If you enjoy a peaceful, serene, beautiful property, this is the place! We are definitely planning to return for a longer stay.

The location is just lovely. The people are friendly and I truly wish I had found this place while my children were still young. It would have been the perfect place to stay with them. There is lots to do with a family. The place is fairly secluded on a windy road along Lake George. It is somewhat hard to find but also marked. I was there to stay the night before a swim race on the lake so I booked for convenience. And, it was quite convenient. Having said that, I came back from dinner late in the evening and I am very glad I found parking right near the front of the hotel and that I was staying in the main building. I would have been somewhat less comfortable has I been staying somewhere else or had I been required to park in one of the lots which are a walk from the main entrance. The property is very large and somewhat intimidating for a single person staying alone. Also, the night I stayed it was very hot and the air-conditioning is not central, is very loud and somewhat dodgy. I was a bit hot. That said, I would return there if I decided to swim again next year.

Nice quiet room at a resort-like property on the lake. But it's near nothing. So, make sure you've eaten beforehand. I got in after 7pm and found nowhere to get a meal. The nearest place had no food left on a Saturday evening, and the next closest place was 15 miles away on a dark mountain road in Bolton Landing.

Great times in Silver Bay.

the YMCA is a great destination. Nice personnel to assist. Adult, child, & family friendly. So many activities, great location and grounds. A treasure trove of fun times. Breakfasts were delicious with a great variety of offerings from eggs, waffles, pancakes, muffins, yogurt, etc. A lot of choices. The water for kayaking and sail boating was crystal clear. Even live music over the weekend when we were there! We will definitely be back.
