Birdwatcher paradise: Green Jewel in the mountains of Gold

These cabins are a bird watchers paradise. We saw over 40 species from the deck of our rustic little cabin. This location is out of the way. If you are driving yourself you will need 4 wheel drive as the driveway is steep and a bit rocky. Romey will work with you to get you a ride if you need one at a fair price. Just communicate ahead of time so he can arrange a driver!! We had the opportunity to ride horses to a beautiful private waterfall with “Eddy” This was an amazing experience, however this is not for beginners as the terrain is very steep and remote. The lodge staff “Anna” makes the best fresh tortillas I have ever had. There are not a lot of services nearby, but if you have your own car it’s about 30 minutes to Santa Elena. This property is under new management and they are working to make improvements.
