Sierra City Loves Falls Cabin - Walking Distance to Waterfall & PCT

Step out the door and walk ten minutes to the Pacific Crest Trail or down Wild Plum Road to the bridge over the Haypress-Yuba river confluence. Sardine and Salmon Lakes — and the entire Lakes Basin — are a ten-minute drive, with miles of trails, alpine swimming, and jaw-dropping scenery.

Back at the cabin, the great room is warm and welcoming, with a wood-burning stove and easy access to two decks — one framing views of the Sierra Buttes through the trees. Fast WiFi means you can stream movies on the projector after long days outside, or keep up with work if you need to.

The layout: Everything you need — great room, full kitchen, main bedroom, and bathroom — is on the main floor. Upstairs (via spiral staircase) has a queen and two twin beds in an open loft-style space, great for families or friend groups. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Great Sierra Buttes destination

Perfect Peaceful Spot Among the Pines

What a neat spot! It's in a nice quiet neighborhood with trails nearby and many more just down the road. The house is quite large but has everything you could want. Can't wait to come back in the summer :)

Came up to the mountains for late September fishing and hiking, weather got frisky, had to spend extra time indoors...very spacious family room...had a great time in a beautiful and quiet part of California.

Cozy cabin in the woods, perfect for relaxing

We stayed here over New Year's Eve and had so much fun. There is plenty of places nearby for snow fun and the cabin is the perfect place to come back and warm up in. There are games, a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of space for sleeping and hanging out. The mudroom with washer and dryer made coming in from the snow easier. We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay

The house was great. Very clean, functional, and comfortable. My only minor complaints are the listing says 3 bedrooms but in reality it's only 2; the upstairs loft has no divider wall/door. Also, the spiral staircase is super narrow and steep; only slim and fit individuals should stay/go upstairs.

After Christmas Family Getaway

It's just as described. Our family does a winter getaway each year after Christmas, and this cabin was an excellent fit for our group of 8. Even with only one bathroom, it was never an issue. We enjoyed going on a hike and walking through the neighborhood. The spiral stairs added charm to the cabin.

We would/will definitely return.We had difficulty operating the projector TV (and did not succeed). We thought that a coffee table (of any size) would be great in front of that big comfy couch so we could safely set down a drink and a snack.

Nice place. Huge open living/dining room and large kitchen. Getting to the 2nd-floor bedroom may be tricky if you have mobility issues. There is a skinny spiral staircase.(You may not need the 2nd floor b/c there is a first-floor bedroom).I recommend hiking up to the Sierra Buttes fire lookout station while you are there, especially if you are not afraid of heights. Don't trust Google Maps too much in Sierra City. It took us and our Honda Civic up a crazy, unpaved, rocky road on a mountain the first time we tried to get to the trailhead.
