Amazing location and great value!

Very clean, great bathroom, and amazing location- right across from an escalator system that takes you into the city center for free. A/C cooling was a little weak, but everything else was very nice and it was an amazing value.

Hotel Moderno was booked quickly upon arrival atSiena train station and proved to be in an ideal location, well priced, pleasant helpful staff and therefore a very enjoyable stay. We have booked the hotel on our return it was so good

Basic. Good for car travellers.

Very difficult to find with no GPS and no Internet on phone...in the dark...a little map on booking print out would have been great. No air conditioning in room. Extremely hot. Thankfully no signs of bugs. Waterbottle in room should have been a must...recommend you bring some snacks if you arrive late. There is not even a vending machine and no shop close by. Oh...and you can hear everything...very thin walls. They stored our bags next day...but not even a lock on the door just next to entrance... garden restaurant looked nice but only open for a few hours in evening. Good for anyone arriving with car if you have GPS.

Nice hotel, could use improved WiFi though

This Hotel was nice for the price. As in most hotels in Europe the shower is small. The service was nice and there was someone at the concierge all the time which was great compared to some of the bed and breakfasts we've stayed at in Italy. My only real complaint is that the WiFi was unreliable in our room, although it was fine in the lobby.

Only thing 'Moderno' is its name

If it hadn't been for the escalators across the street for access to the city center it's closeness would only be for birds. The breakfast was minimal, the furnishings worn, and since I was next to the left - thank goodness for that - it was not the quietest.

Recently stayed here for a night while in Siena with my husband and 2 grown children. Had a quad room with a 4th single bed in a separate room. Everything was clean and the lobby was festively decorated for Christmas. Location is excellent, across the street from escalators to historic center. Breakfast was very good as well; while this was not included in our booking, it was a modest 5 Euros pp. staff were incredibly friendly and helpful--would stay here again!

The hotel was quite old, but the room was clean and the location was great, as it was directly across from the escalator up to town centre of Siena. breakfast buffet was plentiful....staff helpful and courteous. Good value.

Terrible self called "Hotel"

I was lost in Sienna so I call them for clarifications, their answer was "I can't help you because you don't know where you are" (thanks for your help) when we arrive no one helped us with the luggage and it was raining and my wife was with the baby. We have been traveling around Italy and sometimes you find good and bad places but out of all this one is the worst. Very old, tiny bathrooms the stinky beds. Final decision, was to leave after 40 minutes in the tiny, stinky bedroom. The person in charge never care about what was our problem, they only wanted us to pay which by the way we did jut to leave this nightmare behind.

We'd booked 2 nights but decided to extend by another 2 nights as it was the perfect location for us. Use the escalators across the road for an easy trip to Siena old town with its' history, atmosphere, food, shops and people-watching. The room was hard to fault - very clean, comfortable and typically Italian. Breakfast was optional for 10 euros and Wifi was free in the lobby. We used this as a base for walking and train trips around Siena in early October. The 15 min walk from/to the train station was much improved by the longer diversion through the old town using the free escalators from the train station. Find Piazza San Franscesco for the escalator down to the hotel.

One convenient thing was that the hotel was at the bottom of the escalator up to the City. However, don't book a single room as the one I had was tiny and uncomfortable and the shower in the shower room had to be approached sideways in order to get in!

Magnifique jardin !

Hôtel très bien placé...Semble éloigné mais avec accessibilité au centre historique par des escaliers mécaniques situés à 2 pas de l’hotel..le personnel parle français et est très accueillant.. la chambre très aérée donnait sur le jardin donc au calme...et dîner dans le jardin est un vrai plaisir !
