The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet in the morning was also excellent. The hotel itself is a bit secluded which I enjoyed, and the closest town, Selfoss, is about 15-20min drive so be mindful of that if you prefer to be somewhere that’s walkable to Selfoss. Overall it’s a great location. Very scenic and easy access to the Golden Circle and South Coast, and just 1-hour outside of Reykjavik if you want to visit the city.

Very clean, calming, and well-maintained rooms and grounds. We ate the breakfast at 5 different hotels and this one was my favorite, with the most hot and cold options, fresh-baked goods, eggs and bacon and sausage, etc. The restaurant was also excellent for dinner, and had good options for meat, seafood, and kids menu. There's a mini-fridge with freezer in the room if you want to keep a few groceries on hand, and there's a nice casual pizza restaurant and mini-market with milk and snacks, 7 minutes away in the car.

Very lovely hotel with great location. It is set up with little buildings spread around the main building which houses the reception and the main dining area. Don't unload your luggage when you check in, as you can park outside you designated building.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Grimsborgir. The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. I loved having the hot tubs in such close proximity. The breakfast that was included was delicious and had a wide variety. I would absolutely stay here again! It was a perfect base of operations for exploring Reykjavik and Snæfellsnes.
