Wow, what a fun property! Fantastic for parties large and small. It was just my wife and me on this trip, but we could have easily hosted a family reunion with room to spare. Very peaceful setting with lots of unique spaces to spread out and relax. Think redwoods, gardens, and swimming, with eclectic and vintage decor throughout the property that makes it fun and interesting. This is truly a one of kind home. And that's before mentioning the "Ghost Town" at the back of the property that is sure to be a lasting memory for anyone who stays here. The location is also great....close to Occidental and Sebastopol, and striking distance to the Coast, the Russian River, and the heart of Sonoma's wine country. And that all comes with a wonderful host.

The retreat is beautiful, and there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy quality time together in nature. The front and back cottages are a nice location - set back from the main house, however, important to note - no bathrooms within either, so you will need to be access the main house if you need to the restroom in the middle of the night. The kitchen is wonderful for shared meal making and has plenty of dish ware and a variety of teas to enjoy! No dishwasher tablets were available, which made cleanup a bit more of a heavy lift.Our group had great weather during the stay; kids had fun exploring the backyard space and the on-site Ghost Town saloon steps away. Unfortunately, the beautiful pool was not warm enough for the kids to swim for longer than 15-30 min dips. The home is about a 15-20 drive from downtown Sebastopol, which made for an easy enough trip into town for ice cream or a meal. It is about a 10 min drive from Earthseed U-pick which we loved for apple-picking in September.There were some communication hiccups that would have made our check in swifter, but we were able to address the issues quickly with the responsiveness of the host!

Just WOW! I can’t really put it all into words that our family had such a great time experiencing Shangri-La and all it has to offer. Plan on us coming next year!
