The Vorderbrand alpine village is situated in a dream location. The six breathtaking alpine huts are located at approximately 1,078 meters above sea level in Schönau am Königssee. Not quite at the very top, but well above it. From every alpine hut, you have a wonderful view of the Berchtesgaden valley basin, framed by the mountain scenery. Just a few meters higher up, you can also see Lake Königssee. It’s a perfect starting point for many mountain and hiking tours. The Jennerbahn’s middle station is about a 1-kilometer walk away. The alpine village of Vorderbrand offers six lovingly and comfortably furnished alpine huts. Two of these are smaller huts with one bedroom, and four are larger huts with two bedrooms. The alpine huts were built on a slope, so they stand elevated and in a row, one after the other, higher up on the terrain. The path to the huts is heated in winter and illuminated at night. Each alpine hut has a spacious terrace equipped with a grill, various seating options, and a hot tub.In addition, each alpine hut has a covered parking area and a mini-garage for bicycles, skis, sleds, and other gear. Outlets for e-bikes and charging stations for electric vehicles are also available.All huts have underfloor heating and a cozy gas fireplace. This is powered by a combined heat and power plant. • The Muckerl Alm is the sixth alpine hut. It is located at an elevation of 1,086 meters above sea level. • It is the highest-altitude, large alpine hut • There are two bedrooms here, each with a box-spring bed • a large sofa for everyone (converts into a bed) • a coat rack at the entrance • a cozy gas fireplace stove • a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a fully automatic coffee machine • Dish soap, dishwasher tablets, dishcloths, and a drying towel are provided • The swivel TV allows you to watch TV from both the dining area and the couch • A spacious panoramic terrace with a gas grill and various seating options • A hot tub • The bathroom features two infrared loungers and a rain shower • Separate toilet • Towels, bathrobes, a makeup mirror, a hair dryer, and toilet paper are provided on-site • The entire living area is equipped with underfloor heating • Free Wi-Fi • Vacuum cleaner • Game collection • A covered parking area (1,067 meters above sea level) with a mini-garage for sports equipment
We’re the Aschauer family. Our motto: “If everyone does their part, we can achieve anything.” We live on a farm in Schönau am Königssee, where—in addition to running a carpentry shop—we manage the organic farming operations on our own property and provide guest accommodations. Out of love for our homeland, we also devote our free time to farming at our mountain inn.
