About this property

Host & Stay | Anchor Apartment

Summary:

A modern and stylish apartment located close to all that Scarborough has to offer. Visit the award winning beaches and historic harbour or venture out to the North York Moors and explore the natural beauty of a beautiful part of the world.

The Space:

Anchor Apartment is a bright, contemporary one-bedroom apartment, thoughtfully styled with a coastal-modern feel throughout. The open-plan living area is the heart of the home, with a plush sofa, a compact dining spot, and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking up a seaside breakfast or a low-key night in.

The separate bedroom features a comfortable king sized bed, with plenty of natural light and space to unwind after a day exploring the coast. The modern bathroom is fitted with a walk-in shower, and the whole apartment has been finished with warm wood tones, curated artwork, and thoughtful touches that make it feel like a home away from home.

Whether you're after a quiet solo retreat or a relaxed getaway for two, Anchor Apartment offers a stylish, comfortable base right in the heart of Scarborough.

Guest Access:

Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to Anchor Apartment are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

We advise parking in a local pay and display car park located close to the apartment.

The Neighborhood:

If you’re a cricket fan, this is the ideal location, North Marine House overlooks Scarborough cricket club, Yorkshire's first class cricket ground. Located is just a short walk to all of the popular attractions. Packed with seaside charm, you’ll find plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes to discover as well as arcades and ice cream parlours.

There are a number of beaches for you to choose from. The popular South Bay is a sun trap and close to the hustle and bustle of the town centre. North Bay has been accredited with Blue Flag status meaning it’s one of the best beaches in Europe! Cayton Bay is the quietest of the three and boasts a sweeping bay with a rural feel. Lastly Cornelian Bay is the remotest and hardest to get to but it’s a hidden gem and often empty.

Ideal for all weathers, there are lots of indoor attractions in Scarborough for the whole family. Head to Sea Life Sanctuary to see seals, penguins, sharks, turtles and more or Scarborough Castle to explore its 3000 year history. If it’s outdoor fun you’re looking for, The Open Air Theatre is a short 20 minute walk from North Marine House, where you can see amazing bands, singers and comedians. There is also the Sky Trail Adventure, Peasholm Park and a great water park, suitable for all ages a few minutes’ drive away.

Getting Around:

North Marine House is within walking distance of all that Scarborough has to offer and within 1 hours’ drive time of Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Filey.

Scarborough Train Station is a short 10 minute walk away and has routes to Filey, Bridlington, Liverpool and Sheffield.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Scarborough. Hop on the 12 route and you can visit neighbouring seaside spots of Filey and Bridlington. The X93 travels through to Middlesbrough with drop offs in Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby.

Just ok

Had issues with the hob as it was more modern than we were used to. No instructions for the coffee maker, or how to put on the towel heater in the bathroom. You really need to remember people our age need a little more help ! The worst thing was the bed, it was the worst thing I have ever tried sleeping on, it was like trying to sleep on a bouncy castle. Finally the place was full of cobwebs, every room I was expecting Miss Haversham to step out at any time.
