The welcome was warm and genuine, the accommodation was excellent, the breakfast was superb and the on street parking arrangements were painless. We will definitely be visiting again and will recommend the guest house to friends and relatives.

Very nice clean room staff could not have been more helpful, the only place where I have stayed at that take luggage to bedroom. Breakfast you will not get better anywhere, parking no problem staff provided parking permit for stay.loverly weekend would recommend anytime J A

Gary the owner was everything you'd want your host to be .The hotel is spotless, its warm and friendly and the breakfast is great. We'd recommend this hotel to anyone, it was a very pleasurable stay and hope to return in the future Mr @ Mrs Kelly Huddersfield.

Gary is a wonderful host. Very friendly and helpful. Room was perfect for our 3 night stay. Clean and comfortable lovely hot shower. Very convenient for the open air theatre the purpose of our visit. We stayed in Room 1 which was quiet. Breakfast freshly cooked by Gary each morning 10 out of 10. The room was serviced every day spotless and a bonus of biscuits and mints along with tea and coffee. We would highly recommend The Dolphin guest house.

Absolutely fantastic

Absolutely fantastic the owner was very polite helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and the toiletries were outstanding couldn't have needed anything more. We stayed Easter Sunday the room had a Easter egg in from the owner to our son, thought this was really thoughtful.

Gary is a fantastic host and his breakfast keep you going until the evening meal. Always around when you need help or advice, a mine of information. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Would love to stay again!

I had a very pleasant 3 night stay at the Dolphin Guesthouse. The location is great, especially if you are interested in the North Bay and Peasholm Park/Outdoor Theatre areas which are very close at hand. The room was very clean and well appointed with a comfy double bed and a small table and two chairs in a sitting area. There is a wardrobe with hangers and a dresser with tea/coffee making supplies and a kettle, as well as a nightstand with light and alarm clock and a collapsible suitcase stand. The bedding and towels were clean and high quality and the shower had good hot water and pressure. Note to North American visitors, you have to pull a ceiing chord to power the electric shower device. Quality Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash are provided. The owner, Gary is very helpful and friendly and the Full English Breakfast is top rate. Cereal, juices and hot/cold drinks are included. The only thing I would change the next time I stay would be to request a room on the 1st floor because I don’t tolerate the stairs the way I used to. All in all it was great value for money and I heartily recommend staying here. There are restaurants/cafes and delicious fish & chips within a 5 minute walk.

We chose this hotel based on previous reviews and it certainly lived up to expectations. The host, Gary, was very friendly and helpful, giving information about where to go and directions, etc. It was my birthday while we were there and he gave me a lovely card, an unexpected surprise. The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. It had everything we needed and plenty of electric points, something often lacking. Breakfast was amazing, cooked to order, delicious, fresh and hot, served on heated plates. After the first morning we had to ask for smaller portions as it was far too much for us! It is next to the beautiful Peasholm Park and you can walk into the town area in 10 minutes. If, like me, you’re not as fit and healthy as you’d wish, there is an open-topped bus that runs every few minutes from the park to the Scarborough Spa and back, for a reasonable price. Thank you for a lovely stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Gary could not do enough to make you feel welcome all served up with a hot freshly cooked breakfast in the morning. All in all a lovely little B&B. Would definitely stay here again.

Gary is a great host and couldn’t have been more helpful and the Dolphin is of great value and situated at the North Bay …..perfect. Great for visiting Thornton Le Dale (bangers and cash) Pickering and Goathland (Heartbeat)

great little guest house

Great little guest house. People just keep coming back here and it isn’t hard to see why. All safety measures in place, very clean, great host and superb breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble.
