Avoid .. tired, old dirty hotel

Below par, tired and looks dirty. Room was a good size, after I finally got my room that I booked and paid for, only to be told .. sorry we have no availability of that room type, Expedia messed up so I'm afraid there's no room for you. Eventually the manager upgraded the room, but said .. this is a more expensive room, so you should pay more but this time we won't charge you! Wow 😳 No not a good stay and certainly not worth the money.

The room was terrible and we had to be moved. We had room 11 (four poster room). Shower was broken, curtains were unable to be closed and the bath panel was in terrible condition. Avoid this hotel.

Beautiful surroundings with golf course. Pool was cold, jacuzzi broken, steam room broken. Changing room for health centre bit not very clean. Restaurant had very limited menu- poor vegetarian choices and not able to just have a starter/cheeseboard in the restaurant area despite being quite so had to sit in the cold foyer to eat the cheese board. It was very poor value for money, no chutney as advertised. Room fine and clean but bed quite uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend sadly. Right under the Stansted flight path so noisy with aircraft from 3am.

Generally good but one important maintenance issue

Generally good hotel but the lock on our room did not work and we had to have a member of staff use the master key to let us in to our room on every occasion, we were not the only customers with this issue so there is obviously a maintenance problem. Otherwise the facilities were good, the health club was great.

Unpleasant stay and smelly

Two single beds pushed together to form a double isn't ideal. The room smelled of urine and the bathroom had an unpleasant odour. The shower was either off or scalding hot and no amount of fiddling with the dial or waiting seemed to help. We had to have baths in the smelly bathroom in the end just to get ready to leave. Not great.
