Very old school motel vibes. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Wasn’t thrilled with paying $25 to park a day after paying for the room. Front desk staff was nice. Good location to walk to shops / bars / restaurants. Does have some sketchy looking areas nearby but you don’t need to walk that direction to get to anything.

Within walking distance to lots including River Walk. Loved the retro decor/feel. Casting TV was a new experience, but we weren’t in the room a lot so we didn’t watch much tv. Would definitely stay again!

Room was clean, staff was friendly. Looked for a place that included breakfast and this one said it did. Just so you know, that means coffee, juice, tea, and doughnuts. We still had to go out to eat for breakfast after that. They do have popcorn throughout the day which is great when you want a snack. Usually don't care about what is in the room since we are just there to sleep. But, our phones died so we went back to the room to charge them. We couldn't even watch TV while we waited because you need to use your phone to watch TV. No microwave in the room but they have one in the lobby along with the juice ( watered down , don't recommend) and the popcorn. Also green so no plastic utensils, and no hot breakfast so they just had spoons for your coffee. Loved how they played oldies music right outside. Also loved how it was only an 8 minute walk to the historic downtown. Hotels and inn in the district were at least $100 more. There was a fight at 3:30 in the morning that woke me up and the police were called. Took me forever to try to fall back to sleep. Just my luck, nothing against the hotel.

Such a nice and nostalgic stay! The rooms are retro and beautiful. I took my pet as they have an outdoor space for him. In the mornings there’s fresh donuts and coffee. Will come back!

Good choice in Savannah

We really like the Thunderbird. The location is great, the people are very nice, and you don't have to use valet parking. The rooms seem clean overall, but the one we stayed in could use a deep cleaning.

Cute place but very loud

The motel is right on a major street and was very loud day and night. Only television was hooking up to your personal streaming service. We also saw nothing about paying for parking in the reservation system. Only breakfast option was a donut. Most of staff was friendly, but one was very short and snappy. It’s a cute place though.

Positive first. Friendly staff, good donuts. Negative; $25 per night for parking, no microwave in room, overpowering smell of bleach, one coffee cup and no channels on tv. I had to stream Netflix from my phone to watch ANYTHING. I might expect this for $50, but it was $150. Easily one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed.

Externally, the building is somewhat shabby. Room is clean and quite adequate. On Expedia, the listing says all taxes and fees included in the quoted price, so I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that I had to pay a $25 fee for a parking space in a parking lot that is open to the street and offers no particular security for customers’ vehicles. Really disappointed. It feels like a bait and switch. I certainly will not use this property again.
