We booked our stay through Expedia after reading the reviews and checking the area. Name recognition was another reason. The staff was knowledgeable about the area and knew how to treat their guests. Breakfast was a big plus. Most places we go advertise free breakfast which generally is a disappointment. Not so at the Compass. Perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon potatoes, and spinach frittatas. I almost forgot the breads, muffins, oatmeal, assorted fruit, coffee and tea. Fit for a king. Our room has a king bed and a large bathroom with a shower. The room was spotless and it smelled fresh. Not artificially fresh either. Parking is available in the front and on the side of the building. If the weather was warm we would have spent a lot of time at the pool.

The rooms were super clean, the staff texted and checked in on us daily seeing if we needed anything. They have two restaurants on site and a great big pool.
This was the view from our room, just gorgeous & there were manatees & dolphins outside we could see!

The hotel offered clean rooms, comfortable beds, and very friendly staff. However, the breakfast experience could be improved. The staff in the breakfast area did not seem to monitor the stations closely, and many items were almost empty, including fruits, eggs, cottage cheese, cheese and deli plates, as well as utensils and cups.

The ease of checking in. Our balcony room overlooks the water so we were able to see the manatees and dolphins from our room. The walls in the bathroom could have been cleaned better. Other than that everything was wonderful and extremely clean. Dawn at the breakfast restaurant was amazing. She sent us to top notch areas we’ve never seen, very helpful and so happy and friendly

Great, nice clean hotel. Booked a Duluxe balcony room facing the marina. The hotel is idealy located although nothing was really walkable outside of the hotel [other than] the FIsh House Bar/Restaurant] so a car is recommended to get you places. The breakfast at the hotel was fresh with a good variation as was the coffee on tap which also of a decent standard. The happy-hour between Sunday to Thursday was also a nice touch and the bar staff were great. The only minor negatives was the rooms facing the marina have no sun direct on the balcony [possible this could be a seasonal thing in December], more as the views are stunning and it would have been nice to utilise the balcony more. The shower [or strength of the shower] was adequate but not great. Also on the room size [for a family on 3] it would have been nice to ha e a family suite available as the room was a little cramped. Other than the above the stay was fantastic
