Solvang is very cold so it was upsetting to realize the heater in the room made so much noise every time it powered on. It sounded like a lawn mower every single time it turned on at night.

Hello, I would like to leave a review on my current stay at the Vinland dated from November 16th-18th. Prior to booking we had seen photos and reviews from a while back that were positive but not many current. Regardless of that we decided to take the chance on staying here. During arrival and check out the staff were very much friendly. I have no complaints about that. Where I felt the hotel lacks tremendously was the cleanliness of it. Moment we walked into the hall to look for our room it wreaked and had such an unpleasant and unwelcoming smell. There was a smell of chlorine as well in the room. The room was not very clean carpets should I be cleaned and accent pillows look as if never been washed. When taking a shower the water pressure was much too strong for the small size of the shower that it was impossible to not have an enormous puddle outside of the shower. Lastly, I noticed the water would not drain as if the drains are clogged in the tub it would instantly start to fill up the tub when turning the shower on and take a long time to drain afterward. Although the complications of our stay, I did not want to leave this review. My husband thought I should make others aware of it considering cancellation was no longer an option without forfeiting the payment we made for the room because it had been past 24 hrs from booking. I hope this will help anyone considering to stay her and for the hotel to be informed of what can be done to make the stay a better experience.

I have never had such a terrible hotel experience. As I was taking my 3 year old daughter out of the shower, the glass completely shattered and it came off the railing, thus shattering into thousands of pieces all around her and I. Those that did come to assist with lots of blood and panic (Carina and Jeremy) were amazing and helpful. However, there was no follow up call to see how we were doing and at checkout the woman at the front desk Maria (who I later found out was the general manager) was terribly rude and unaccommodating. When asked how our stay was I said we made the most of the situation and none of us were wanting to take a shower because of the incident (obviously) and she shrugged it off and acted like she heard nothing. I called the next day to just let them know I was feeling a bit upset about how the situation was handled and one of her responses was “I am sorry you feel that way”.. In the end she said she would refund our stay and I asked her to send me a confirmation email ( she never did refunded anything or sent any type of email) an opportunity to stay at another one of their hotels of our choice (still no email). Expedia staff was amazing when I explained the situation and they made it right. But in regards to the customer service and common decency at this hotel, I’d find another place to stay.

I specified something easy weeks (maybe even more than 2 months) in advance and didn't get it. There seems to be minimal cleaning services uses here which may result in not all the rooms available every day due to them not being cleaned yet. Front desk was nice and good. Room was ok. Could have had a better chair and more *available power outlets (NOT at the sink). An enclosed or better closet would have been better. Great water pressure in shower as usual. A second bar of soap initially offered would have been nice. Stinky hallways! I have always liked this hotel but the stinky hallways and stairwells take alot away from the experience. They need better ventilation, air fresheners, carpet cleaning....something.

It was fine, but the loft room is very odd. Sparsely decorated and only one AC/Heather in the space, which means the temperature is never what you want it to be. The bar/lounge is okay, but very overpriced for what you get. There are better places to stay, find something else.
