THE CASTLE



At the heart of the estate stands Castell de Villavecchia, built in 1894 by architect Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia. The original wooden structures, the round tower and the private chapel have been preserved; the interior has been renovated for contemporary comfort. Ten of the twelve bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. Most rooms also include a private sitting area.

Castell de Villavecchia sits at the end of a private forest track in the Les Guilleries mountains, on its own hill with open views. The estate is close to both Barcelona and Girona and easily reached by car. There is no passing traffic and virtually no immediate neighbours.



The nearest village, Sant Hilari Sacalm, is 3.5 km away and has a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy and local restaurants.



The Les Guilleries region offers walking trails, reservoirs (Sau and Susqueda) and authentic villages including Rupit, Osor and Vic. The historic city of Girona is 35 km away.
