The staff was helpful and kind. The breakfast has a variety that met our needs. Parking was safe and convenient. The room was fine and the beds comfortable but unfortunately, BED BUGS freaked us out and made for an overall anxious stay. We lost most of our first night's sleep as we problem solved the situation. We know bed bugs can be an issue anywhere and we ALWAYS check our bed and headboard. This was our first encounter in over 50 years of travel. We saw some concerning stain on one bed corner (underneath a an enclosed mattress cover) but decided to stay in that room anyway. Just a bit later, we found a tiny bug on top of my pillow and killed it and tossed it. They offered to move rooms and we did. But before we did, my husband found another bug on that same bed and we videoed that one and showed it to staff. The manager responded the next morning with a refund for our first night. But boy, we feel like we dodged a bullet. We would never want to bring bed bugs home. They are near impossible to get rid of.

We reserved two rooms because we were in town for a wedding. After driving 9 1/2 hours, we arrived at 11pm. We were greeted by the lady at the front desk. She was wonderful! We made our way up to our rooms. The one room was fine. My room, however…..my children and I walked into our room and was hit by an enormous smell of weed. We exited and went down to the lobby and asked for another room. The lady was very sweet and moved us across the hall. We went into our room and noticed two “water bugs” crawling on the ground. We call them cockroaches in Ohio…North Carolina call them water bugs? Anyway, I killed them, made sure all of our things were off of the ground and went to bed. I was exhausted and the only other option was sleeping I. The car. We didn’t notice any other bugs on the second day. We checked out and I informed the front desk of the bug situation to which she answered she would have someone take care of it immediately. They didn’t offer a refund or anything. At that point we were just ready to get home.
