Our room was very nice, we really love the bathroom and the accommodations related to that, the AC heating unit unfortunately was very loud in our room. We finally just turned it off. The bed was comfortable. There’s plenty of storage. We may have liked a more comfortable chair to relax. The view was good. Love the fire pit. The landscaping was pretty with quick access to the ocean boardwalk. If you left the windows open, you can hear the sea.

We were VERY happy with our room. Sparkling clean. Nice and relaxing look. Comfortable chairs and table included. We were delighted that we were so close to the boardwalk and the ocean. And could walk to our restaurant. We look forward to staying there again for sure!

Gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful at check in. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Wrong time of year to enjoy the pool and other outdoor amenities but eveything looked nice and clean. Only thing that was a little annoying was that we could hear every step in the room above us. Probably not as bad if people on the second floor were more contious of guests below, but seemed that the guest(s) above us could care less about anyone else and was walking nonstop our first night. Common courtesy is dead, so hard to say.

I have stayed at Castle Inn multiple times and have always given it 4-5 stars. It’s budget friendly, the rooms are clean and most of them are spacious. This time however, I had to give it 3. I stayed in room 30 which is one of the rooms with a direct view (albeit from a distance) of the ocean. The room was spacious, clean and perfect for 1-2 persons. The reason I am giving it a 3 this time is the mattress was awful. It is absolutely time for a new mattress in room 30. I could not find a spot on the bed anywhere that wasn’t lumpy or supportive for my back. Also, I have never noticed how noisy the ac/heating unit was before; maybe I have never used it before. They don’t have central air so the air unit is the old school one that sticks out of the wall and the vent part is on the outside of the room. what was super crazy was that I could hear the sound of my next door neighbor’s unit all night!!! It was like having a car engine running next to my room; I had a very hard time sleeping. Not only that, the people running the heating/ac unit all night, talked loudly until well past midnight. Whew. It was rough few nights of sleep. I feel I will probably stay at Castle Inn again as the price is usually cheaper than the other inns along the beach, the breakfast is decent and what are the chances I will get another noisy neighbor?? I am hoping the mattress gets replaced in room 30 soon as I loved the view from room 30.

We loved everything about our stay at the Castle Inn in Cayucos. We arrived early and they let us check early since our room was clean. The room was extremely spacious and very clean. We thought the adorable origami towels shaped like swans was a perfect touch. And the best part was the price. It was very reasonable. If we get a chance, we will definitely stay again.

Great location, clean, beautiful view, friendly staff, affordable, great self-serve breakfast, and we loved the outdoor fire pit and seating. We didn't try the pool or hot tub, but were told by guests that it was heated and clean!
