Beachfront Queen Casita in San Pedro Ambergis Caye

Gold Standard! Sweet Water Reef Resort is on the Caribbean Ocean, more specifically a kayak paddle away from the second largest reef in the world and nestled within a protected reserve. We are located 6.5 miles north of town. Our property features paddleboards, kayaks, bicycles, and housekeeping. Rooms are equipped with king or queen beds, TV, private bathroom, air conditioning, bed linens, towels, mini-fridge, kettle, and WIFI. The Reef suites feature their own private patios where you can hear the reef roaring in the distance.

We have four individual cabanas all with air-conditioning, hot water, wifi, televisions, great mattresses, linens and towels - and of course a gorgeous beach!
We suggest and can arrange for golf cart rentals prior to your arrival. Your cart and attendant will be waiting for you at the airport or ferry and you can just follow the directions we will send on to your new home away from home.
Guest access
You can drive around the island on one of our rental gold carts or bike your way to Secret Beach. We also have plenty of activities by boat including an exclusive Sea and Sun package that includes 4 days/3 Nights sailing and hitting the best and most sought-after diving and snorkeling spots along what second largest barrier reef in the world.
Plus we have our own kayak, paddleboards, and limited fishing gear on site.
Make yourself comfortable in your air-conditioned vacation home, which features a Smart TV. There's a private patio. The bathroom has a shower.

You cannot beat this view and it’s literally steps to the water! Thomas and Anna are extremely welcoming hosts and the staff are among the friendliest around! Relax and enjoy the view during the day and spend the evening at the bar with the delightful Daniella, who has an incredible smile and much knowledge of the local history. If you’re looking for a bite to eat, Chris will make you the best dinner on the island! Kayaks and paddle boards have seen better days but work for a short paddle. Definitely get a golf cart as it’s about a 45-minute ride into town, but Thomas will take care of arranging everything for you.

The host was very attentive. We found that Belize is not for everyone and more expensive than we imagined. We made the most of it and had a very relaxing stay though doubt we will return to this country.

Perfect, quiet getaway

Loved staying here. We chose the casita right next to the water. It was spotlessly clean, quiet, and peaceful. Thomas has arrangements with the adjoining properties for use of their pools and discounts at their restaurants (at least at Portofino, which we didn't even need to request each time we ate there). The only negative is the road condition, but that's most of the area once you're greater than 3 miles north of downtown. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Belize.

Relaxing in San Pedro Cabana

We enjoyed our time at this beach front cabana. So relaxing with a beautiful ocean view. Our host Thomas was very responsive.

Could not be closer to the water

Far from town, 6.5 miles north of bridge. Requires travel along a long stretch of unpaved, bumpy road. Casita is dated, poorly lit, in need up maintenance. Very quiet area next to the Portofino Resort where we had fantastic meals despite out of control mosquitos which cause us to run for cover on several occasions. Ambergris Caye Belize is in need of significant infrastructure development and improved sanitation. Vacationing here is not for the faint hearted! Beware!

Amazing stay in San Pedro!

Had an amazing experience staying in the Casita on San Pedro. Thomas and Anna were extremely welcoming and made sure we had a great time! Def get the golf cart & ask about massages and snorkeling!! Dinner & drinks at the resort were always good. The staff are genuinely happy to see you happy!

We loved our stay here. Thomas & Anna were so very helpful and very generous. The Casista was perfect, right on the beach. Cannot recommend this place highly enough for a laid back relaxing holiday.

A Fun, Friendly, Comfortable, and Safe Resort

The welcoming, accommodating, and friendly atmosphere at the Sweet Water Resort is the consistent vibe. Thomas and Anna are the quintessential resort owners who are on top of their game. We stayed in the Reef Queen cabana right on the beach, which was awesome. Waking each morning to the sun rising over the barrier reef, framed by palm trees on either side, blue sky, and soft white Caribbean sand is living “the dream.” This was our favorite place is our three weeks in Belize. We are looking forward to returning to enjoy a cocktail and conversation with Thomas and Anna at their locals friendly bar/restaurant. Highly recommended.

Belize Paradise Found

I can't say enough wonderful things about this beautiful property just north of the busy city of San Pedro. Thomas and his wife, Anna, went out of their way to take care of me and make sure I had everything I needed and was comfortable. I stayed in the casita closest to the shore and enjoyed the most amazing sunrise every morning. Sipping my coffee in my own private lounge area on the beach just outside of the casita right on the water is something I will miss every day. I'm so thankful for the time I spent in Belize and for the hospitality of these wonderful hosts.
