Beautiful historical place to stay. It was spacious and quiet right next to the university for visiting parents. Check in was easy and parking right up front. Lovely vintage decor. I do plan to return and stay when visiting my son at school.
Beautiful Place! Very comfortable and clean and the neighborhood is quiet. The history behind the church is visible and just amazing. This is our place to book from now on as our kiddos attend Texas State University.
Place was great but no hot water when arrived, but all in all they reimbursed me part of my money for not having hot water, definitely would book again! I loved the spot!
My stay was amazing! The hosts were very accommodating and helpful. I’ve actually stayed at this property before and it was great during that stay too. It’s close enough to the square to walk and it has a cute, historic look on the outside and inside. I would definitely recommend!
Great stay! Walking distance from Texas State University and the town square. Historical landmark..Cute place! Beautifully furnished and comfortable bedding. In a lively neighborhood, so expect some traffic noise. Overall great stay and plan to stay again in the spring.
Other than a stovetop you have a complete kitchen. There are a number of small steps to negotiate through the Drawing Room. It was nice having a designated parking spot.
The location has multiple restaurants within a 3 block area. Zelick's Ice House is fun with live music, but far enough away for it not to be an issue (sorry Crystal River Inn). Palmer House or the Curry house are excellent options
It was nice seeing the Christmas decor for the holidays.
Cute lil place very nicely decorated. Antique style w splashes of color. High ceilings, wood floors, very homey.

Cuteness = 100. Functionality = 50. Outlets sparse, no flat surface in the bathroom to set down so much as a toothbrush, everything was nice but awkward and not comfortable
Easy check in, cold AC, comfortable bed, and fairly quiet location. Easy walk to the square, bars, and restaurants. Parking for a large vehicle might be a challenge. Loved the decor and style of the unit. Very comfortable place to stay overall. Bathroom is a bit dark and could use a better lighting. Overall, this was a fantastic stay in a great location. Super clean!
Such a cute little place. My little cousin and I both said we would live there ;) walkable to lots. Perfect for she and I to stay. She's 18 so she got the futon and I got the bed. Perfect space for us for the weekend!
We loved staying at the Downtown Abbey. The old wood floors and the historic architecture were beautiful. The price for what felt like a two-bedroom apartment was phenomenal!
I would recommend a shower curtain kit around the gorgeous clawfoot tub. Showering is a bit cumbersome and it would preserve the gorgeous wood floors. We would stay again!
Nice place. Note that the sleeper couch is only a single size. No problem for me, but would be an issue if you intended to use it for two people. Having said that, it was the most comfortable sleeper couch I’ve ever used.
My accommodation was in an old church. There are two rooms arranged in the form of a house and two king beds. everything was clean enough. hot water and heating were good and trouble-free. if I come again, I will rent the same place again. it is considered in the center of the city, you have all kinds of possibilities within walking distance.
We had the spacious Drawing Room, complete with a full kitchen and sitting room. Looking out our window we saw three deer resting in the strip of trees behind the property, wonderful to see since you’re in the middle of town. Only negative: hot and cold settings are reversed in the shower so I got the cold shower and my husband was smart enough to figure it out. Beautiful, unusual property and convenient location.
Very convenient access to Texas State University and walking distance to the square. We stayed here to move our daughter into her dorm room and it was a nice stay. We didn’t find the double bed room until check out morning because we thought it was one of the “secure privacy” rooms to another unit. We made due with the upstairs bedroom but it was kinda hot upstairs. Parking for Unit B was good to our needs. Fit two SUV’s easy.
Overall we will be back to staycation here to visit our daughter. The historic building was well preserved in it’s natural beauty with creating a 3 unit housing complex.
My daughter and I spent one night here before touring TXST. We were very impressed with the architecture and Interior design! The place was very clean, temperature was well controlled and really overall positive!
Only thing that was a little bit weird was the door that connected to someone else's closet (we put the chest in fron of it), and that the house wasn't lit up from the outside so it was a little bit challenging to see from the street in the dark , in the rain. Overall- Lovely!!!!! We are likely to come again with more family members! The bed was so comfy- I slept much better than I normally do in hotels!
We enjoyed how they renovated an historic church. Nicely done. There are also alot of eaterys in walking distance. You do have to gather the linings and clean up before you leave. Although this may be normal for this sort of place. Also, there is a lot of road noise as it faces the road. Its also worth noteing, the instructions/check in are done through messaging. It wasn't a problem. just know before you go.

I was told roaches were “ normal “
My girls were there no longer than 15 min
Ended up having to get them a hotel room down the street. I Was credited 65. So this was a loss for us
Comforter in left room had a big stain. Had to sleep in my clothes and cover with my jacket. I didn’t see it until we came back for the day and there was no contact information.
A/C was broken, kept kicking on but turned off after a 1 minute for that reason I got less then an hour of sleep that night in 89 degree temperatures. Even debated just driving home to Houston at 3 am.

This was a super cute place however, it would have been nice to have coffee or some kind of lite breakfast. Also had a constant issue with someone parking in my assigned spot and i was forced to park and walk in the dark in unfamiliar area. Message sent to management went UNANSWERED. Not likely to return.
