The property was nice. The garden room isn’t really looking onto a garden. It’s adjacent so that was a little bit disappointing. But the grounds are very lovely and taken care of nicely. Although my room did look out onto a dead hedge. I enjoyed that there were two cats that popped around every once in a while. The service was very good. Everything I needed was taken care of right away. The room I was in was showing some signs of aging. But I understand it’s hard to keep everything fresh when there’s so many people going through. I wish there’d been a microwave, but they didn’t have that and no kettle for tea in the room. But I could use the Keurig for hot water. All in all, it was a very pleasant place and I recommend staying there.

The room we stayed in was called the Garden Room, and we assumed it had a garden view as opposed to the ocean view rooms. Instead it was one of 4 Garden Rooms that were in a sad, separate building away from the bay and the lovely main building. Just out the front door was a parking lot, and our room was adjacent to a Thai restaurant. For the expensive price and 4.5 star Expedia luxury rating, we expected more. It was a real disappointment after viewing the beautiful photos online. When our neighbor shut his door, it reverberated loudly in our room. There was no air conditioning. The shower stall was tiny with no shelf to place your shower items. The nozzle does not adjust so depending on your height you may get sprayed in the face. On the positive side, it was clean, nicely furnished, with comfortable beds. Pretty potted plants were placed outside the door and back window, and you could walk to a lovely garden and lawn with a bay view near the main building. The price for the Garden Rooms needs to be much lower than the price for other rooms on the property. If the owners had been more transparent about the less than ideal location of the Garden Rooms we would not have felt duped. Also we selected pay on arrival but were charged in advance - not a big deal to us but irritating.
