Avila Beach is an idyllic location. And this particular hotel is a beachfront wonder. We had three separate families (with young children as well), and we had no end of wonderful things to do close at hand. Our time at Avila Lighthouse Suites was delightful from start to finish and the hotel was highly responsive to each request we made. The beds were delightful. We all got good sleep!!! And the bathroom was spacious and well equipped. Free Ebikes we could ride. Bob Jones hiking trail nearby. Golf right across the way.. Boogie boards. Complimentary, bountiful breakfast galley. The rooms were clean. The weather was fabulous. Boutique shopping nearby and tasty restaurants. The staff at this hotel was pleasant and helpful. I can’t think of a thing that we had to do without! And we had refrigerators in our rooms. TV channels worked! Made s’mores onsite. The pool and spa were a big hit. Pretty landscaping. The parking was easy and convenient. Avila Valley Barn down the road. Aquarium next door! Park, hoops.. Beach a few yards away. We stayed there all week. Nobody cried.

The room was awesome. I would love to stay there for more than just one night, but it was super expensive and that’s all we could afford. They said that we were supposed to get a free bottle of wine, but there was not one but we had a great time anyway

We've been visiting the Avila/Pismo area annually for the past 20 years, usually staying for about two weeks, and have always loved the region. For our 2025 anniversary, we finally decided to stay at Avila Lighthouse Suites, a property that had long been on our bucket list due to its prime oceanfront location. We booked an oceanfront suite for a two-night stay (10/10–10/12/25), with a total cost of $1,243.13. 10/10/25: Upon check-in, we were informed of a concert happening that evening at the Avila Beach Golf Resort (just across the road). By 5:30 PM, the music was so loud—and the bass so intense—it caused our room to vibrate. The noise made it impossible to relax, enjoy the view, or even leave the sliding door open. This continued until around 10:30 PM. 10/11/25: The next morning, we learned from another guest that a wedding was scheduled at the hotel that evening. When we returned around 7:30 PM, the reception was in full swing, set up around the pool and hot tub. Once again, the noise from the music and crowd was excessive and lasted until about 11:00 PM. Had we been informed of these events ahead of time, we would have gladly rescheduled our trip. While the hotel did refund approximately $143 in parking and taxes, what we truly lost was our time—and the peaceful, relaxing experience we had hoped for. The location is beautiful, but so are many others in the Pismo area. If you're looking for a quiet, oceanfront retreat, I would recommend exploring other options.

I purchased the trip through Expedia knowing that some resort fees must be paid seperately. The hotel started on day one to charge me fees which I prepaid to Expedia. A short answer was that there was a glitch between the systems of the hotel and Expedia. Even after multiple communications with the hotel they started to charge me beyond the extra Ressort fees. I paid my trip to Expedia! And I am ok to pay extra fees, which I did. The hotel started to remove charges and the a eeek later asked me again to pay $600 which is assumed of $1200 I would still owe. I am very unhappy that I was in the middle if things. I want the hotel to clarify this with Expedia. On the flip side this hotel is really nice and a great place. People are friendly.

Our family of 4 had a great stay here. I was impressed by the size of the suite, plenty of room for storage as well as a fridge and microwave. We all enjoyed the breakfast included with the resort fee. Lots to do for kids within walking distance.
