Not great. No internet, bathroom garbage was full on check in, nightstand was dirty, no elevator, no luggage cart, ice machine is down a dark hallway in a maintanence area, room refrigerator not cold, a gas fireplace pilot light with a flame 3 inches tall that was noisy and made the room hot and could not be turned off. But the worst part is that there was an adjoining room, and the guests talked loudly late in the night and a small child was loud as well. I called the front desk at 10:45 pm who told me to give them 15 min to quiet down. This was a bizarre request, but I did it. 15 min later, I called again, and she agreed to call the guests. After that, the adults were quiet. However, the child was still making noise. At midnight, I called the desk again, but no one answered. I guess they had the luxury of getting some sleep. I tried turning on the air conditioner, and thankfully it was loud enough to drown out the child. I paid to sleep there, and they were not especially concerned about the fact that I couldn't. They could have offered a different room or went to the room to make ure it was quiet, but they didn't. I will stay in Hollister in the future.

The hotel is centrally located for all the sites in town so you can walk to everything and basically equally distant to Santa Cruz or Monterey depending on where you'd like to go. The rooms are clean, the service was good and parking was safe and well-lit.

This is an older family-owned hotel. It is historical and interesting. I liked that it was within walking distance of everything - especially the Mission. The rooms are massive, but, there are no coffee machines. And there was no decaf coffee at the continental breakfast. The rooms have a combination jacuzzi tub, shower. The tub walls are VERY high making it dangerous to get in and out of when you are old. The soaps they offer are inexpensive and made my hair frizz. There are stairs leading to the lobby and they were painting or something so there were drop cloths on the stairs and a blower into the lobby. I felt unsafe trying to get my luggage up and down the stairs. Bottom line, if you are prone to falls or handicapped in any way, this hotel is a challenge. On the flip side, everyone was friendly, there was plenty of free parking, the hotel was quiet, interesting and walkable.

Nice older hotel in a wonderful small town. Everything is walkable, a couple of very good restaurants with in 3 blocks and an historical site. A bit nosy on the first floor but not too the point we were inconvenienced.

Such a gem of a stay!!!

We loved our stay! Our room was CLEAN and was big enough for my wife and I, as well as large enough for our near-2 year old son to run around in. We enjoyed our patio and big tub/shower! Also, the continental breakfast was fantastic!!! Fresh make-your-own waffles (with different flavored batters), instant oatmeal, hot coffee and water, hot cocoa packets and tea bags, and individually wrapped pastries (Hostess donettes, danishes, cinnamon rolls, etc.), juices, water, and fresh fruit were all available! The staff, both day & night, were very pleasant, professional, and available for any of our needs! The location was perfect for our trip, as we were in town to attend a family wedding. The drive was not too far away for a day in Monterey where we took our son to the aquarium (MUST VISIT!) and had a late lunch. Also, just out the back entry is the main road/street to the little downtown area and a block/block-and-a-half away from the mission! We will definitely stay here again!
