No details were sent to me for a late check-in. The taxi from the airport called 3 times and no one answered. We had to knock on the door at the entrance to wake the reception person. Not a great start, but the hotel itself was charming.

This hotel is in a centrally located area in San Jose with nice dining options nearby, shopping, museums, and theaters. Each room is unique and clean. The breakfast bar has nice fresh fruit, eggs, pinto, plantains, toast, creal, cheese, juice, coffee, and tea available. The staff is helpful and friendly.

The property is very centrally located---just minutes to the National Museum of CR, restaurants, theaters, etc. Check-in was easy. Breakfast was good--they did not serve any meat at all but overall good.

Be prepared to drive in circles to find the hotel. Once you do, it’s hard to find a safe place to park. The hotel recommends a place and it cost you 14$ to park. Breakfast was terrible. There was no food other than some watermelon. Coffee was scarce and you’re lucky if you get a cup. Oh watched the cooks sit there eating while the guests sat there with nothing.

Nice house turned into a hotel, about a 10-minute walk to the center. My room was spacious with a decent bathroom and a small garden, but no chair, which was a bit inconvenient. It was right next to the stairs, so I could hear people and noise from the next room. Train noise was noticeable but didn’t bother me much. Staff speak mostly Spanish, so communication was a bit tricky. Breakfast wasn't ready on time, and they don’t offer anything if you leave early for a tour. At checkout, no one was at reception, I had to find someone to help me. Overall, it’s a charming place, but a few service issues to be aware of.
