David was very accommodating as we arrived in the middle of the night directly from the airport. The location is quiet with a peaceful little garden, but still in walking distance of the central market and busy downtown area.

Good start and end for a trip to CR

Really good option, at walking distance to the city center. Staff is great and welcoming, and the place is a great place to start or finish (or both) a trip to Costa Rica. The place has a 'good-hostel-vibe', has an associated parking garage nearby (at a cost) and it is safe and quiet. Rooms are spacious and clean. Just be aware that restrooms are shared - which were not specified when we first made the reservation.

Great hostel-style option in a nice neighborhood

Good hostel-style option, in a nice nighborhood, not too far from the city center. Staff is friendly and ready to help, there is a kitchen avaialble for use and also a fridge downstairs. The only down side is that bathrooms were shared and that wasn't specified at the time of reservation.

2 person private room was comfortable. It is a house and shared Bathroom was clean. Staff was polite and helpful as I needed Covid test information to return to US. Neiborhood was safe to walk to local restaurant.

Helt okej för en natt

Väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam personal som pratade bra engelska. De serverade en god frukost (omelett och färsk frukt) som vi åt på bakgården innan vi skulle åka vidare. Sängkläder och handdukar var rena men rummen var slitna generellt. Hårda sängar och väldigt lyhört både ut mot gatan och övriga rum. Vi kom fram ganska sent på kvällen så vi utforskade inte närområdet utan gick och la oss direkt. Fungerar för en natt helt enkelt.

Ostello dotato anche di camere per coppie e famiglie con bagno condiviso, arredato con gusto e con grande capacità di recupero di materiali (pallet per basi letto e divani e rulli per cavi elettrici come tavolini) con un gradevole giardino frequentato da varie specie di uccelli. Colazione nutriente. Grande ospitalità e disponibilità da parte del personale.

Charmante auberge familiale

J’ai couché deux nuits à Eco Stay CR à mon arrivée au Costa Rica. C’est une sympathique auberge conçue et tenue par une famille locale située près du quartier Escalante (bons restos) et pas trop loin non plus du centre (10 min de marche du Musée national, 25 min de marche du marché central, 30 min de marche des terminus d’autobus comme MUSOC, Tracopa et TUASA). Les indications de Google Maps sont exactes quant à la localisation de l’auberge, donc à défaut d’une adresse, se fier à Google (y compris en taxi)! J’ai couché dans un dortoir à quatre places. Le matelas affaissé n’était pas des plus confortables. Par contre, il y avait des casiers pour nos objets de valeur (apportez un petit cadenas!) ainsi qu’un balcon. Le quartier est tout de même assez bruyant, avec le train et tout, mais c’est sans doute moins pire qu’au centre. Tout était d’une propreté irréprochable pendant mon séjour. L’auberge possède un jardin où il fait bon prendre le petit déjeuner ou s’attarder le soir avec les autres voyageurs, un coin fumeurs et un salon avec table de billard. Les voyageurs peuvent utiliser la cuisine pour se faire à manger (sauf au petit déjeuner). Les points positifs : le balcon dans la chambre, le petit déjeuner frais cuisiné tous les jours, le jardin, le caractère familial de l’endroit. Les points négatifs : le mauvais matelas (dortoir), le bruit de la rue, la difficulté de s’y rendre par ses propres moyens quand on ne connaît pas la ville.
