I had a really disappointing experience at this hotel. The first room I was given had dirty underwear on the floor, trash in the drawers, and used tissues in the bathroom. When I asked to be moved, the second room also had dirty floors and leftover chips near the bed. After all that, I was told a manager would call me to address the situation — but no one ever reached out, even after I followed up. It’s frustrating to be promised a call and never hear back, especially after such a poor stay. The front desk staff at night was kind and did remove my parking fee, but overall the lack of cleanliness and communication was really disappointing. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it until management takes cleanliness and guest concerns more seriously.

Great Service and Great Breakfast

Great service and the continental breakfast was amazing! Their mini waffles were so good. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The fridge and microwave came in handy as well. We walked about 5 minutes to a cute restaurant for dinner one day and then walked the neighborhood. It’s a chill quiet area if you’re looking to be away from the city noise but close enough that you can be in Balboa Park within 20 min. Great place and would stay here again.

The staff was friendly, and the room was nice and clean. The only issues that I had which I didn't notify the staff was that I saw four small roaches in my bathroom on four different occasions. Also, the parking lot spaces are tight. It was hard to get in and out of my rental because the spaces were smaller than typical.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Diego Central is a extra clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The rooms include full kitchens, the staff is friendly, and the location is quiet. Great value with nice amenities like a heated pool, gym, and free breakfast. Highly recommended!

The experience was quite unfortunate. We made almost 4 room changes in one day because of the conditions and ultimately had to change hotels. First night found a hotel in the bathroom. Switched rooms and then there was a musky moldy smell. Then the next room had a leaking A/C unit that made the carpet soaked.

Subpar stay and not very clean

The free breakfast in the morning was fine, but just fine. A very small area, crowded with people and little options. Coffee in both areas was out. Our room was very tiny. So small in fact that the bathroom door when opened, almost hit the side of the bed. Walk in shower was dirty and appeared to not be clean. No pillows for pull out couch bed. Found large hair ball and stains in hallway outside of our room. Very subpar and lacking in the rooms, cleanliness and comfort area.
