To start off the parking lot is really confusing to get to and if you make a wrong turn you are back on the freeway. I had to go back to get my keys remade and then only 1 worked. The lobby was locked when I checked in at the window at 11pm while I waited for the staff to check me in a homeless man stood next to me trying to find out if I was traveling alone, he then followed me to my car until I got in and locked the doors. The sheets were dirty and the overall quality of the room were not good. Then during the night we could hear people yelling outside the door well after midnight. When I looked around in the light of day there was a big homeless camp right across the street. I did not feel safe and even thought I had 1 more night prepaid, I left for another hotel.

Property was very clean though shabby/aged. It is walkable to Balboa Park and Gaslight area. Close to City College tram station. Not many dining/eating places around but a McD's (in an emergency) about 500m up the road. There was a microwave but no plates or cutlery. Staff friendly.

Went for a couple days with my son. Property definitely DOES NOT look like the pictures on the website. Room was decent, toilet was very wobbly. Not to mention parking if first come first serve, if you don't get in early you have to pay for parking near by. Across the street in an empty lot homeless people have tents set-up, doesn't feel safe at all.

Better than anticipated, beating low expectations

This is typical lodge in a big city center. Close to MTS, but the walk may be on the dangerous side as there were/are a lot of individuals temporarily experience homelessness on the streets. However, the property appeared to be safe, secure and clean. The front office personnel was friendly and available. Security was on par. Room was relatively clean and habitable. First night was a bit noisy from the neighbors having a party. However, overall no complains for the class of the lodging property this is.

Just don’t

Don’t believe the pictures. This place is soooo run down. The guy working the front desk is nice, but there is an overwhelming smell in the office. Then the room was bad. Light shade falling apart. Bugs. Dirty sheets… hair and burn/blood stain on the sheets. Light coming out of the ceiling. Wall coming apart above shower.
