This hotel has a great location in the centre of Gaslamp… however, the noise you hear from the streets throughout the whole night is very loud! Earplugs provided by the hotel were needed and even with them in you could still hear the base music. On top of this the air con units are very old so once again these were very loud when trying to sleep and they didn’t work the best. The old touches in the hotel like the elevators fitted with the look and vibe of the hotel but the doors to them weren’t practical when trying to get luggage in and out. Being on your own with cases may be difficult as both the door and the cage are quite heavy so they just slam close straight away.

The staff wasvery very friendly they were very patient for such a young aged crew!! The valet was excellent given all the caos for parking in that area. It was close to everythng there is too san diego if you like to party this hotel is in the perfect spot !! Old looking but very sheek ! Excellent for non partiers as well as it is walking distance to broadway area !!!

Groovy Chic Boutique Hotel Alert!

The hotel is super cool if you enjoy staying in historic properties. I loved the caged elevator as it’s original to the building from 1913, but some people would not. The room i booked only had light from an interior courtyard which made the room dark. With the blinds open i could see in the neighboring rooms, but kept them closed most of the time for privacy reasons. The restaurant in the hotel and the rooftop bar are both fantastic!
