Hotel Gigi is great. The host Rita was very accommodating and friendly. Room was good too. Only thing is that some check in instructions were not provided from EXPEDIA. Made checking in a little bit of a hassle, but that's on EXPEDIA.

Good price, location and customer service. Perfect for events at Petco park, it was my first time being able to get to and get home from a festival in under 10 minutes! Definitely a bit small and the noise travels, but can’t beat the price point for a private room.

Our visit was fine except for the bed. I was unable to get comfortable to fall asleep. We ended up leaving at 3am due to the fact I couldn’t sleep. Other than that the stay was ok

We arrived at the place at night. It was apparent that the place was not cleaned after last user. The hairs were on cover and the mattress and coversheets were neither organised not clean. I called the hotel, they said they already cleaned the unit. Then they offered another unit. I couldn’t trust the hygiene of this place so asked any form of refund. The lady then said “i’ll tell the agent (hotels.com) that you rejected my offer to upgrade your reservation.” The lady said if I want a refund, I should talk to hotels.com. I reached out to hotels.com via their chatting service. I was upfront about my needs (any refund and not another unit in the same place), they kept wasting my time for 30 mins for nothing but $25 of OneCash (some online point). It was frustrating since we are already exhausted after a long day on a trip at that night. We just wanted a place and because of this, we were waiting so long without even being sit. I can’t understand people who recommend this place. San Diego has amazing public transit. There are way better hotels or airbnb anywhere nearby. So don’t be trapped to this place because of the location.

The room was not ready for us as we arrived at 4pm. The guy was working on fixing the sink, the toilet was a disgusting mess that I had to clean up before my wife saw it. The tv had no remote so it was useless to us, the room smelled like urine so we had to buy candles to offset the smell. I want a refund.

This place is definitely my go to spot now when I’m in San Diego. The room has everything you need. They have a good security system to ensure you’re safe and staff were accommodating and helpful. The ac is so cold too. The area is nice and walkable to everything you’d need. Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to go to gaslamp!
