The hotel looked great from the outside however, when we arrived at our room there was issue with the cistern running constantly. Despite raising this issue twice, no-one came to fix it. The cistern ran continually and noisily all night. It was so loud it kept us awake. We spoke to the receptionist the next morning who shrugged her shoulders and said they’d look into it. Very disappointing.

We stayed here because it is a 2 min walk to the Lowry. The metro brought us straight to the hotel from Manchester Picadilly, just 1 min walk. The reception and bar staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good value for the cost and the breakfast staff were exceptional. The bedroom was extremely clean and tidy and the beds were comfy.

Check in was at 2pm but there were no rooms available. We checked in during the evening and the room was basic. The toilet seat was broken and the room was tired looking. We ate in the restaurant at 8.30pm and I asked for a vodka and Diet Coke and was given a Diet Coke. I asked again for a vodka and was told that it was in the glass but it didn’t seem so as it was only a single. There was actually no liquid in the glass, only ice. The waitress took the bottle of Coke and the glass away and came back with the Diet Coke in the glass and said it had vodka in it . I couldn’t taste any. The meal was very average. My husband had a ribeye steak which was gristly. I had a Malaysian curry which tasted like a microwave meal. We would not eat here again.
