The hotel was surprisingly good. A little rough on the onset but after meeting new owner he is making things really nice step by step. Quiet and comfortable sleep with a convenient store right across the road! It was a great stop over! I'd recommend it for a night or two.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The area felt very safe, which was reassuring, and the surroundings were clean and well-maintained. It was also a quiet place to relax, making it ideal for a peaceful stay. The only downside was the steep stairs, which might be challenging for some guests, especially if carrying luggage. Other than that, everything was comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, a good choice if you’re looking for a safe, clean, and quiet place to stay.

The house was under refurbishment and new ownership but this did not affect my stay at all. It is well placed for trams and rail links, and main roads. I was able to travel in from Chester area and around South Manchester without going into the centre of town. Lovely walks along the Bridgewater Canal and plenty of places to get a bit of shopping nearby. Very comfortable and well furnished, reasonably priced, a welcome change from hotel chains with no individual character. Would recommend.

None of the electric sockets worked for my whole stay! I couldn't have a hot drink, watch TV or charge my phone. The lighting was ok, so it was not due to a power cut. Self check in would work better if they actually let you know which room number you have. Shower is very weak. Positives are free parking, proximity to tram station.

Had to call the manager to get keycodes to get into rooms. Why wasnt this sent in a separate message ??? Front door on second day had a broken lock so was left open with no front desk. Bed was well used, too soft. Electric shower was OK, but who has these now, should be mains fed. Room was eclectic Parisian theme....if the bed was more comfortable would come back (maybe) , but property as a whole felt like an HMO. and access to it was from the rear , not easy to find.

A good stay at the Cornerstones Guest House

A very good stay, the room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was clean and had natural ventilation, the bed was comfortable. The guest house was close to the centre of Sale and was easy to get to the bars and restaurants. We would recommend staying there and if we come back to Sale we would stay here again

I chose this location for two reasons - firstly because of the proximity of the metro (I was heading to Old Trafford on Saturday for the cricket and wanted to stop off at Stretford parkrun first) and secondly because the cost was so reasonable. Check-in/out was confusing and I had to phone someone (who didn't pick up) before being texted a code for the lockbox. I had two different requests on checkout - one to leave the key in the room and the other to put it back in the lockbox so had to message again for confirmation. My room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was clean with plenty hot water. There was a kettle with tea & coffee. The inside of the building is a bit run-down - the carpets could do with being replaced and some of the furniture (pull-out bed/couch in my room) has seen better days. But for what I was after it was fine.

The check in process was not smooth. It requires calling a specific number on the door (not easy if you are traveling without cellular data) that could easily be sent to the tenant by automated message. Our first calls were not answered. This is not a major issue by itself, but there is no onsite staff or check in desk despite the attempt to appear to have that, and any problems with checking in will result in guests not getting in, especially over a holiday weekend.

This property was advertised as a hotel, but it’s not. There was nobody there at the property to welcome us, nor was there anyone to ask for anything like toilet rolls or extra pillows and there wasn’t a floor mat for stepping out of shower. As my husband is elderly he didn’t have a shower in case he slipped on the floor. Because there was nobody at the property on arrival we left part on our luggage in the car as it was difficult to carry up 2 flights of narrow stairs. To crown it all the room was barely big enough to swing a cat in and the sink was at the end of the bed and there was not much more than a trickle of cold water. I won’t bore you with the rest, but I definitely would not recommend this property to anyone.
