The property 30 Chantepie on the isle d‘Orleons is located in an excellent place, if you like the sea and the beach. The unspoilt baste beach of Chaucre is 10 minutes away and other beaches are nearby. To find good restaurants you need to drive to St Denis (10/15 minutes) and to get to shops and the supermarket you also need to take the car. There is a ‘boulangerie’ in walking distance. The property itself has seen better days. Build in the late 80s it seems to have been. a family holiday accommodation for decades. It now however is in need of modernisation. There is one tiny bathroom and one toilette. So considering it is advertised as a property which can accommodate up to 6 people one tiny bathroom is not enough. When we first arrived we had difficulties getting into the house as the lock of the shatter was very difficult to operate. The owners had been in the property in April and the house had been aired by the agency very briefly on the day of our arrival (we were told by the neighbours), so we were greeted by a strange smell of moisture and bad air. The parasol needs repairing and we worried it would fall apart in a strong wind. Some of the bikes in the garage, which are left for the holiday makers to use, are 20-30 years old. The environment and the nature around Chaucre, especially the beach are however unspoilt and provide a fantastic opportunity to find some inner peace and contributed immensely to the feeling that we actually did have a nice holiday.
