Detached house for rent on the Île d'Oléron in Saint-Denis-d'Oléron. Ideally located, just a 10-minute bike ride from the town center and the beaches, as well as the Chassiron Lighthouse and the wild coast.
Typical of the Charente Pertuis islands, such as Ré and Aix, Oléron offers a variety of choices between sheltered, quiet beaches on the mainland side—ideal for children—and beaches facing the open ocean, perfect for all water sports.
In addition, the island offers the charm of its lively little markets and the peace and serenity of its narrow streets lined with hollyhocks. Don’t miss the traditional fishing port of La Cotinière with its colorful trawlers, as well as the brightly colored oyster huts at the famous Marennes-Oléron basin.
The entire island is crisscrossed by a comprehensive network of bike paths and offers an ideal setting for walks and hikes, between the old salt marshes and the two forest areas of Saint Trojan and Boyardville. Of course, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Fort Boyard from the entire east coast, especially from Saumonards Beach.
Finally, throughout the season, daily boat services will allow you to either spend a day in La Rochelle or take a boat trip between Fort Boyard, Île d’Aix, and Île de Ré from the port of Saint-Denis.

Sommerferien am Strand

Wir hatten zwei schöne Wochen, auf der Île D‘Oleron. Wir mochten an unserer Unterkunft, dass sie so ruhig und etwas abgelegen war. Einkäufe und Touren(Strand, Restaurants ) müssen mit dem Auto oder Fahrrad erledigt werden. Muss man sich halt drauf einstellen. Schlafzimmer sind einige vorhanden. Wir als 4-köpfige Familie hatten genügend Platz. Küche zum Kochen ist vorhanden, haben uns einige Mahlzeiten selbst zubereitet. Die Einrichtung ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber ist ja auf den Fotos gut zu erkennen. Der Empfang und die Abreise hat sehr gut geklappt, eine sehr freundliche Dame hat uns alles erklärt und gezeigt. Insgesamt ein entspannter Urlaub, ohne Probleme.
