"Il nido al Colosseo" is a charming flat located in a nineteen hundred mansion, in the heart of Rome.
Equipped with all modern comforts, easily reached from Rome Airports and Railway Stations, it is at walking distance to the metro, public transports and other facilities, making it an excellent starting point to visit Rome’s unique masterpieces of art and history
Perfect for families, romantic getaways or friends, it represents a perfect solution to make your stay in the Eternal City pleasant and relaxed.

The flat consists of a large living/dining area with a fully fitted kitchen, two bedrooms (one double and one single – the latter with the possibility to add an extra bed to suit the need for a twin or a second double) and a bathroom with shower.
It is equipped with independent heating, washing machine, TV, fridge, oven, kettle and hair drier
To make your stay more enjoyable I have personally selected a range of information and useful addresses.
On your arrival you will be given useful tips, divided by touristic area, regarding: typical “trattorie”, restaurants, pizzerias, bars, ice cream shops, wine bar, etc., that, by our experience, can help in making your stay unforgettable.

From 2019, in the living room was installed a 12.000 BTU A/C device able to cool the whole apartment. In addition, in summer, you'll find electric an in every bedroom.

At your arrival you will find a food welcome kit (pasta, tomato sauce, oil, salt, sugar, coffee, tea, biscuits), so you will have time to organize yourself in the best way, in one of the close supermarkets. Also available in the hygienic products and detergents, as well as a kit for first aid.

You will be welcomed personally by me and I will provide all the necessary information even on public transport, the attractions of the neighborhood, the advice for pleasant walks in the city center. This way you can give your holiday a very customized impression and experience Rome

The apartment is 5 min walking from the metro station "Colosseo" (Line B) and a short walk from the bus stops that allow you to easily and quickly reach the main attractions and the most famous shopping areas.
The area is safe and is characterized by the presence of numerous green areas ideal for jogging and with playground. Among them: Villa Celimontana, Colle Oppio park and Terme di Caracalla area

Strolling around the ancient and suggestive borough Celio, you will be captured by some of the most important monuments and churches of Rome: Coliseum, Forum, S. Clemente, SS. Quattro Coronati or just relaxing in one of the many typical “osteria romanesca” where you will be able to taste the real roman cuisine, pizzerias, wine bars, pubs, ice cream shops.
Your stay will be even more comfortable due to the proximity of: underground, bus, green areas, parking, supermarkets, internet café, car/bike hire, bureau de change, etc

It is available on request, free of charge, a baby cot with linen children.

On request is available a transport service to / from the Fiumicino and Ciampino airports.

Marco is the consummate host. He had everything ready and greeted us so warmly. A big bowl of peaches, nectarines and apricots was on the table for us. Maps, suggestions for dining and maps for our adventures. Nice quiet location as well.

This was our second stay in Marco's flat. It is so comfortable, cool and quiet. Exactly what we needed after long, hot days of sightseeing. The rooms feel like a real classic home not just a plain holiday flat and it's position could simply not be better. Marco is so kind - he met us on arrival, arranged our taxi and came to see us off.

When it says a stone throw from the Colosseum the host Marco is not joking! His place is close to everything the Metro station only two stops from Termini. The A/C was good and the hot water and washer also looked like they were pretty new so no issues there. Marco was great host and communication was excellent, we went during Holy Week and for our surprise thePope was doing the traditional Via Crusis which Marco told us was happening. Overall great place to stay and we'll be seeking his place if and when come back to Rome.

Amazing Location Roman Apartment

I can’t say enough about the location of this lovely, well appointed apartment, it is unbelievably close to the Colosseum, and located in a safe, quaint neighbourhood. The neighbourhood has good restaurants, an amazing gelato shop and grocery store.

A lovely home base for exploring Rome, mere blocks from the Coliseum with restaurants, gelato, 24-hour market and more in this little neighborhood. Great location, bus stop right outside, metro, grocery store and colosseum just a few mins away. Marco was a wonderful host, answering all my questions before and during the stay and providing lots of useful information. We even had a cooking class in the apartment with his chef friend, learning to cook Italian style. It was one of the highlights of our stay!

This apartment is very well located near historical sites, restaurants, grocery store and taxis. Marco the host was great. He provided us with directions and information which made our trip more enjoyable. He also made arrangements for a driver to take us to the port.

This property was perfect for us. Cleanliness and readiness was exceptional. Communication with host Marco could not have been any better and he went above and beyond to assist us in our first trip to Rome. I would highly recommend this property. Availability of air conditioning was a great benefit on this trip as we coincided with quite an extreme heat wave.

Rome Visit

We had a short few days in Rome and found this cute little place. It was super convenient to the Colosseum and other sites. Marco, our host, was so helpful and even helped us get a taxi the day we left. We were a little disappointed with the lack of views. It was a ground floor apartment. We didn’t stay inside much so that wasn’t a huge issue. I would definitely recommend Marco as your Rome host.

Best location, best apartment

From check in to check out, Marco was amazing! The apartment is just two blocks from the colosseum and had everything, air conditioning, fans, plenty of towels, dishes, pans, utensils, toiletries, a full size refrigerator. The apartment is spacious and immaculately clean. The bed was very comfortable. Easy to walk to restaurants, grocery store and bus stops. Stunning view from the rooftop of the city and colosseum with the sun setting behind it. Highly recommend this apartment to future renters. Five stars aren’t high enough!

A week in Roma

We have been to Rome several times but this time we brought our two grandsons, ages 15 and 12 for their first trip abroad. The apartment was wonderful. My husband had sprained his knee before we left and was using a can so luckily there were only 3 stairs before entering the apartment. It was perfect for the 4 of us and had everything we needed. It was extremely clean and very comfortable We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends. It is close to everything and the #81 bus stops just at the end of the block and we were able to get around Rome very well from there. We could not have wished for more.

Great Host!

Our 1st time at a VRBO was fantastic. The host, Marco, organized our airport-to-apartment transportation, checked us in, provided details about the apartment, and even gave us a map highlighting key attractions in the area. I accidentally locked myself out of the apartment on New Year's Eve at 8 o'clock at night, leaving my family stranded. Marco generously traveled 30 minutes each way to let us back in, and he didn't charge us for the assistance. Our time in Rome was truly delightful. We loved the apartment's location and, in particular, cherished the personal touch of renting someone's place—adding to our overall experience.

You would be hard pressed to find a more perfect rental than this. Location is unbelievable - truly mind blowing to wake up 300 m from the Colosseum and Forum every day. We walked around it every morning and night … and many times in between. Surreal experience. The apartment was pristine and set up like a home with everything you could need. Beds and linens very cozy. AC and laundry was so appreciated this July! Ground floor location meant no stairs at the end of long days - and it is a quiet & peaceful building. Roof top terrace gave a postcard view. Marco’s hospitality is truly top notch - his welcome book was so helpful for public transit and restaurant recommendations - and he kindly made sure we knew how everything worked so that life was easy! Communication was the best we’ve had with over 30 similar rental stays. Rome is very walkable - but if you need transit, bus 81 is at the corner and takes you to the Vatican. The Colosseum metro stop is only 300m away. The hop on and off bus companies all stop within about 400m from the front door. All this being said, this apartment feels like it is on a quiet and humble street. You. Will. Love it !!!

Our stay in Rome was fantastic. It is literally a stone's throw from the Colosseum as advertised. Marco was a tremendous help, connecting us with someone to help us set up tours. Marco also set up transportation from the airport to the apartment and met us at the apartment to check us in. He showed us all the ins and outs of the apartment and the neighborhood, showing us maps and offering dining suggestions.The apartment was the perfect size for our family of 4 (two kids, ages 17 & 20) with a queen-size bed in one room and 2 singles in the other room.He was also very helpful when I forgot one of his instructions for the washing machine. He was available to answer my call and show me what to do.The location is fabulous, with many restaurants within walking distance in addition to the Colosseum area that offered much to look at and a great area to walk around.Taxis were available within a block of the apartment, and Marco also suggested a taxi app to download (IT Taxi). We used it seamlessly to get to the Vatican for a cost of 20 euros.For our other tours that were arranged, the 3-hour golf cart tour picked us up at the apartment and dropped us at a restaurant around the corner with a dinner reservation. For the Colosseum tour, we walked the 2 blocks to meet our guide.One other thing—being from the United States, we do not speak Italian. This was not a problem, as Marco speaks very good English.It was a perfect experience for all of us!Thank you, Marco!

Fantastic in Every Way

Wonderful apartment in the heart of Rome. 2 blocks from the coliseum. On the non touristy side of the coliseum. Easy to find delicious affordable restaurants. Safe little neighborhood. Marco was extremely responsive right from the first email. From the reservation to the checkin and check out. We were there for 4 days and he checked in a couple of times to see if we needed anything. Unit had two nice bedrooms and a sitting room. Kitchen has everything you need. Nice shower and washing machine. Pictures shown are accurate. Marco was the perfect host. He met us on arrival and check out, explained the keys, gas stove, washing machine and getting around the neighbourhood. Marco allowed us to drop our luggage earlier than checkin so we could get to a tour on time. Marco arranged a driver from the port and then to the airport for us. Giovanni the driver was on time and a fair rate. (Transport can be tricky) He has a binder in the suite, that explains getting around by bus, metro, restaurants, grocery etc. We quickly found our favorite pizza/ focaccia by the slice spot, gelato, cafes and restaurants in no time. Pizza by the slice at Pizzería di Sforza Piero €2.50 per person Naumachia Risorante had delicious Handmade Lasagna at €8.00 Espresso’s €2.00-3.00 Marco left us a bowl of fresh fruit upon arrival. It was so unexpected, delicious and appreciated. The local oranges are fantastic! When back in Rome we will certainly look forward to staying there again!

JUST WONDERFULL

This was our first time using a holiday rental instead of the usual hotels etc. I would like to thank Marco for being so helpfull from the begining allowing us not to worry. He kindly helped us with a letter of accomodation for my wife's Italian visa. With suggestions and hints from the begining about the weather, sites etc. He was quick with email queries even though sometimes i think we bothered him too much. So firstly Marco thankyou from me and my wife for being such a gracious and helpfull host. As to the apartment, the smile on my wife's face was all that i needed to know that i made a great choice. It is great for a couple and can easily accomodate a family of four if need be. It was clean and well stocked with towels etc. The kitchen area and dinning/living area my wife loved and had more then enough space. We never felt cramped there. Shower and W/C area was lager then we expected as was the master bedroom, the second room we had no use of but with another single bed can accomodate two people. The whole apartment was lager then we expected from the pictures. The location is excellent. We could easily reach where we wanted to go using both bus and metro or even walking as the location is situated close to many of Rome's important sites. The neighbourhood is lovely and quiet with nice parks nearby. There are two supermakets close by so no worries there and offcourse the usual newsagent, cafes and restuarents. Though there is a bar/pub opposite the bedrooms it never really bothered us at night. The location was perfect and because of it we enjoyed Rome even more. If my wife and I ever go back to Rome we shall definitely look to see if this apartment is free first. Thankyou Marco and as one of my illustrious ancestor said and i repeat about Rome "Veni, vidi, vici" :)

We loved our stay at Marcos apartment. We couldn’t believe how close we were to the colosseo The location was perfect! Close to the metro and two blocks away from the colosseo. If you go up the stairs to the balcony up top, you have a beautiful view of Romes skyline. There were bakeries, grocery stores, and restaurants right by us, and Marco had it all mapped up for us. Marco was such an attentive host. He was SO kind, he’s such a sweetheart. Even before we arrived he was giving us recommendations for tours and food options. We had an early flight and he was very accommodating. Once we arrived he explained everything to us and was so sweet! He even left us a basket of fresh fruit on arrival! The apartment was cozy and had everything we needed, including fans and AC. Thank you Marco for hosting us and for providing such a lovely, warm experience.

Emplacement idéal pour un agréable séjour

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans l’appartement de Marco. L’emplacement est idéal, proche du Colisee, des lignes de bus et de metro et de toutes commodités. Marco a été très disponible et très réactif quand nous avons eu besoin de lui, nous avons beaucoup apprécié. Mettre du double vitrage dans la 2ème chambre serait un plus. Marco, merci encore pour tout.
