The good aspects of the apartment include: 1) location of apartment is great if you want to be on the fringe of Trastevere without the tourist crowds. It is in a neighborhood and this was a positive as we could get food close by at CONAD or another grocery store or eat at one of countless restaurants. 2) The patio was nice and we enjoyed our coffee outside in the morning. 3) The kitchen is renovated and was very functional. It is a charming old apartment building and the apartment has high ceilings and artsy, quirky decorations. However, it has many issues that make us rate it as just ok. The bad aspects: 1) First, it really has just one functional bathroom. The second bathroom has no shower, a broken toilet seat, a horrible sink with a glass shelf that is not level and blocks your ability to easily wash your face. The bathroom is horrible and really needs a total renovation. 2) The fold out sofa bed had a thin mattress with a metal bar running across it that presses painfully against the sleepers back. It was brutal to sleep on it without propping a pillow over the bar. Not acceptable. Replace the matress. 3) The lamps in the bedrooms and the lights either have to be unplugged to turn them off or worked intermittenly. Not acceptable. 4) There were no dish towels in the kitchen, two small one-day soaps, a few partial toilet paper rolls, and bathroom towels that were low quality. For the price paid, it is standard to equip the unit with these items and provide higher quality.
