Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the rooms are kind of tired and dated. Having said that, our room was huge for a European hotel room. King bed, sitting room/entry foyer and nice big bathroom with awesome water pressure. Rooftop bar was incredible. Can walk to many of the tourist attractions. As a side note, be prepared for bumper to bumper traffic everywhere you go, so plan accordingly. We were here to board a Viking cruise and the port is a solid 1 1/2 hours away FYI...

My son & I had a wonderful stay at Marcella. The hotel is beautiful with old world Italian charm. The room was quite nice & clean & the bed was comfortable. The toiletries in the bathroom were also wonderful! The staff at Marcella was always attentive to our needs & upon arrival, the gentleman working the reception desk recommended a casual restaurant right around the corner, where we enjoyed a delicious pasta dinner with exceptional service. I definitely recommend staying at Marcella if you want to be within a few miles of all of Romes attractions.

This was a very nice hotel. However, a few things need to be mentioned that surprised us but still doesn't change how I feel about. The rooms have no AC. With the rooms being on the smaller side it tends to get a little stuffy. Opening the window is not a good option if you're a light sleeper because of the foot traffic, vehicular traffic, the garbage removal, etc. Putting that aside the staff at the front desk, bell hop, housekeeping, waiters, etc. were all very nice and courteous. They were all very welcoming and were very accommodating. I would still say it's still a very nice hotel and centrally located to some attractions. There a lot of good restaurants around also.
