The hotel is in agoood location -however it looks like the hotel is going through renovations. I found my room a bit dusty and the toilet had a bad drainage odour. The room is also not noise proof. You can here whats happening above your room i.e toilet flushing etc.

People are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is great! The room was spotless, but need some paint in bathroom and cabinets, the amenities like the small refrigerator was not working, and they couldn’t fixed. I have a great experience is a little familiar cozy hotel, not luxury but very convenient location and guest are middle class families.

Overall it is located in a very convenient location, but I would not recommend it. The hotel smells like cigarettes and tobacco, shower drain pipes are stuck and the water overflows easily. Terrible!!!

The room was a comfortable size but could use updated mattresses. We were there for 3 days and couldn't access the wifi. The staff didn't seem to care after multiple requests to look into the issue. Then they were not willing to provide any discount despite them did not delivering what they promised upon booking (free wifi). We had to purchase our own. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety.

This is a good, basic hotel which is convenient for St Peter's and the Vatican. The city centre is also within easy reach via the metro. There is a buffet breakfast with a good selection available in the morning. Staff were very helpful, particularly the night manager who was very helpful when I had a minor accident - a fall in the room. See below. Likewise, the chambermaid was able to confirm that my hairdryer was not working and it wasn't my fault! (It was quickly repaired). The room was small but compact with enough space for me and my belongings. Wifi was patchy at best and the TV channels did not offer much entertainment, the exception being a Sean Connery film (in English, curiously) which I hadn't seen. The one problem: Aurum Hotels, please do NOT have a step between the bedroom and bathroom; a slope would be much safer.

Everything was in order from check in to check out . Room was always made well and restocked. Breakfast was served well, buffet style, with good amount of selection, for me I lean towards more protein and choose the eggs , cheese and meat with espresso and a biscuit and one piece of fruit . The buffet is included in the price of the hotel room. Staff was always friendly . My room was quiet at night and everything in the room worked. I stayed 10 nights in my most recent visit to Rome and this my third time staying at Grand Olympic Hotel . I will stay there again next time I am in Rome. Garcias , John

I stayed at Grand Olympic Hotel from Sept 28 to Oct 8 th . Everything was top rate from check in to check out. My room was made up daily usually during the time i would go down for the hotel breakfast . The breakfast was buffet style and included . I lean toward a more high protein breakfast and would have eggs with cheese , meat and one biscuit with one piece of fruit. Also some espresso coffee. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was quiet at night and clean . Everything in the room was functional. I have visited Rome three times and I have stayed exclusively at the Grand Olympic Hotel each time and I hope to stay at the Grand Olympic Hotel the next time I visit Rome. Gracias, John

The hotel is very close to the Vatican. St. Peter's Basilica is just a 5-8 minute walk away. Unfortunately, the hotel is undergoing renovations and has several issues. We experienced annoying noises, no hot water in the shower, and very inattentive staff. Breakfast was the best part of our stay. They should inform guests about the renovations so they can make an informed decision when choosing a hotel.

Das Hotel ist insgesamt besser, als es so manche Bewertung vermuten lässt. Wir hatten ein neu renoviertes Zimmer und waren zufrieden. Die Lage des Hotels ist top. Man erreicht nach ein paar Gehminuten den Petersdom und den Trevi Brunnen. Wir sind vom Hotel auch bis zum Kolosseum gelaufen (ca. 40 min. eine Strecke zu Fuß). So sieht man wenigstens etwas von der Stadt. Klar, das Hoten ist nicht unbedingt mit 4 Sternen in Deutschland zu vergleichen, aber für unsere Ansprüche hat es voll ausgereicht. Man darf halt nicht so genau in die Ecken schauen usw., Türrahmen sind abgenutzt und auch die Rezeption sieht jetzt nicht sonderlich einladend aus. Wie gesagt, uns hat das nicht gestört. Auch das Frühstück war reichhaltiger und besser als aufgrund der vielen schlechten Bewertungen erwartet.

I like the quiet areas (2nd floor lounge?) The hotel is old but well maintained - clean, no "old building smell" Breakfast provided is healthy - and there is variety.
