- Big Boulder is a non-smoking, pet-free Creekview cabin surrounded by 150+ private acres in Red River Gorge -
Go big on your next Red River Gorge getaway at Big Boulder, our spacious Creekview retreat sitting just 3 miles, or about 4 minutes, from Natural Bridge State Resort Park. That means you can be on the trails in minutes—or skip the car altogether and explore more than 150 private acres of hiking trails, climbing routes, creeks, waterfalls, caves, cliffs, and wooded terrain right outside your door.
When the exploring is done, Big Boulder keeps the fun going. Kick back on the wraparound porch, claim one of the hanging porch swings, soak in the hot tub, fire up the grill, challenge somebody to foosball or the arcade table upstairs, and end the night around the firepit. With 4 Queen beds, 2 full bathrooms, 2 separate living areas, and plenty of room to spread out, our cabin is made for families, friends, hiking crews, and groups who want the Gorge to be part of the stay—not just somewhere they drive to.
• Kitchen + Amenities: Our fully stocked kitchen is ready for everything from quick trail-day breakfasts to big group dinners, with an oven, microwave, dishwasher, standard drip coffee maker, French press, blender, hand mixer, cookware, dinnerware, utensils, and everyday cooking essentials.
Big Boulder also includes Wi-Fi, washer/dryer, 2 TVs—one in the main living room and one in the upstairs living area—hot tub, propane grill, firepit, and a spacious wraparound porch.
• Living + Game Space: Big Boulder gives your group room to spread out instead of fighting over one couch and one TV. The main living room is perfect for hanging out together, while the upstairs loft includes a second living area with its own TV, seating, foosball table, and arcade table.
That means the kids, competitive adults, or whoever refuses to give up the remote can migrate upstairs while everyone else enjoys a little peace downstairs.
• Sleeping Arrangements:
- Bedroom 1: Queen Bed
- Bedroom 2: Queen Bed
- Upstairs Loft: 2 Queen Beds with a partition between the sleeping areas
Please note that the upstairs sleeping area is still an open-style loft. The partition gives the two Queen beds some separation, but they are not fully enclosed bedrooms.
• Bathrooms:
- Downstairs: Full bathroom with shower/tub combination + vanity
- Upstairs: Full bathroom with tiled stand-up shower + vanity
Fresh linens and towels are provided.
• Outdoor Living: Big Boulder makes it dangerously easy to spend half your vacation doing absolutely nothing productive. The wraparound porch features a traditional porch swing plus 4 hanging porch swings, giving your group plenty of places to kick back with coffee, a drink, or absolutely zero plans.
After exploring Creekview, come back for a soak in the hot tub, grill dinner outside, or settle around the firepit once the sun goes down. With more than 150 private acres surrounding you, the adventure can start right from the property and the relaxing can start the second you get back.
• Pet Policy: Big Boulder is not pet-friendly due to owner allergies. Please do not bring pets to our cabin. Unauthorized pets may result in a $350 fee.
• Starter Essentials: We provide an Essential Starter Pack with 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, 3 dishwasher pods, 3 laundry pods, 3 trash bags, and 1 fresh sponge. Please note that these supplies are provided as a starter amount and are not replenished during your stay, so you may want to bring or purchase additional items for longer visits.
• Firewood + Grill: Firewood is available on-site through our self-service, self-pay firewood station. We encourage purchasing firewood locally to help prevent the spread of invasive species and protect our beautiful wooded areas. Propane is provided for the grill.
• Parking + Access: Big Boulder is reached by a small paved hill and is accessible by standard vehicles under normal weather conditions. Parking is limited to 2 vehicles. Additional vehicles will need to use a local park-and-ride and carpool to our cabin. Trailers are prohibited.
4WD is always recommended during winter weather, snow, ice, heavy rain, or other inclement conditions.
You will receive the exact property address, GPS-friendly directions, and check-in instructions via SMS 3 days prior to arrival. Please make sure the phone number on your reservation is valid and able to receive text messages. If you do not receive a confirmation text from us, please reach out so we can make sure you have everything you need before check-in!
• Location + Creekview Property: Big Boulder is only 3 miles, or about 4 minutes, from Natural Bridge State Resort Park—a location that is seriously hard to beat.
Our cabin also sits within the private Creekview property, giving you access to more than 150 acres of developed hiking trails, climbing routes, creeks, waterfalls, caves, cliffs, and wooded terrain without having to get back in the car.
Trail maps are included in the listing photos. If you would like a clearer PDF copy before or during your stay, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to send one over!
• Nearby Creekview Cabins: Traveling with a larger group but still want everyone to have their own space? We also manage several nearby Creekview properties, including Soul Sister, Creeksong, Dreamcatcher, Hillside Haven, Cozy Creek, Angel’s View, and Dreamscape.
This makes Creekview a great option for reunions, families, friend groups, and outdoor crews who want to stay close without squeezing everyone under one roof. Feel free to reach out to us if you need any help coordinating a multi-cabin stay!
🍂 Seasonal Fall Note:
During fall, leaves are actively dropping throughout the Red River Gorge. Our porches, decks, and outdoor spaces are swept and prepared before arrival, but fresh leaves can accumulate quickly—even shortly after housekeeping has finished. A few leaves on outdoor surfaces are a normal part of staying in the woods during autumn and are not an indication that the property was not cleaned.
• A Note About Nature:
You’re staying in the heart of Kentucky’s Red River Gorge, surrounded by the beautiful Appalachian Mountains and all the nature that comes with them. While our cabins are professionally cleaned and routinely treated for pests, occasional insects and other woodland visitors may still make an appearance—especially during warmer months. This is a natural part of staying in a heavily wooded mountain environment and does not necessarily indicate a cleanliness or pest-control issue.
• Security Camera Disclosure: Creekview has exterior security cameras located at the pole barn facing the roadway, at the well house facing the pole barn, near Soul Sister facing the property entrance, and near Big Boulder covering the hill and road intersection. Cameras are exterior-facing only and do not view private or interior spaces.
