The room including the ensuite was clean. Towels and drink making facilities provided but I would have liked a decaff. I was on my own but the space would have been tight for two of us. The room was dark and the main light didn't give off much light. Unfortunately the room did have a damp and musty aroma. I couldn't get any wifi which I'm sure was advertised as free. Check in was easy enough as the pub was open when I arrived. Limited parking at the property but I found free parking nearby on the main road. At £100 per night it wasn't cheap- I was up for a college reunion so maybe demand had an effect on dynamic pricing.

Truly one of the worst stays I've ever had. The room smelled terribly of damp, the bed and carpet was ripped and stained, thick layers of dust on almost every surface, mould in the bathroom, shower leakage, and dead plants in the courtyard. The cleaning staff barged into our room in the morning without knocking, waking us up two hours before our checkout time. The staff was basically non-existent, and as the pub only opens around noon, it's impossible to get any help in the mornings. The price of the room was an absolute joke, I truly wouldn't have paid £10 to stay here. Ripon is a small location with not many accommodation options, so they are blatantly trying to rip you off. It was only a 2 night stay, but I my partner and I ended up needing to clean most of the room just to be comfortable staying there. I cannot stress this enough, STEER CLEAR!!

The one good thing about this place is the staff. In all other respects this was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience: We were unable to use the car park because of the white vans that were in the way. The room was not especially clean The ‘double’ bed in the room was tiny, barely able to accommodate two people and very uncomfortable No WiFi This place was not staffed overnight so when the fire alarm went off at 6AM no one turned it off and no one came to check on the guests. We left while the alarm was still going.
