Casa Vista Mar 1. The property owner stated that air conditioning is not an included amenity because it is not listed in the “amenities” section. However, the listing photos clearly show air-conditioning units in the bedrooms, which reasonably led me to believe that air conditioning was available. If the units are not provided for guest use or cannot operate during power interruptions, this should be clearly disclosed in the listing. During my stay, the air conditioning was unavailable under the property’s power-backup arrangement, and the interior became extremely hot and uncomfortable. When I raised the issue, I was not provided with a satisfactory solution, property owner stated that she was out of the country and advised me to contact Expedia. From that point forward property owner ignored contacts from me and Expedia. So I requested an early checkout because I did not feel comfortable staying there. The property owner declined my refund request. Future guests should carefully review the listed amenities and confirm directly with the property whether the air-conditioning units shown in the photos are available for use and under specifically what circumstances. In addition, the untreated well water sulfur/rotten egg smell is unbearable. Expedia’s excellent customer service went above and beyond to assist and help, ultimately taking full responsibility/offered a satisfactory resolution.
