Good apartment, alright neighborhood

The apartment itself and the building it's in are very well maintained and secured. Host is responsive and checks in with you quite often. I did run into an issue that I wish the host had been more reactive about though: a broken appliance. I informed the host that the microwave had broken down and she assured me that a new one would be arriving in a few days; the microwave never arrived though. I rarely use microwaves for my cooking, so it didn't really affect me, but the lack of urgency from the host was evident. The neighborhood is relatively safe if you use common sense. It's no Copacabana or Ipanema, so it's always good to be on the lookout and aware of your surroundings. Nightlife is great though and there's always something to do out and about.
