Room was spacious but it smelled awful. And the bathroom was not it with the just the surfaces were dirty. There were actual bugs. And I wish I had read reviews before going. I would recommend you book a different hotel than this one.

The pictures of the room online didn't match the room. The showed pictures a walk-in shower but there was a bathtub. There was a photo shopped doorway showing a kitchen in the room. There was a hairdryer holder in the bathroom but no hairdryer asked for one took almost two hours until I got one. Iron holder in the closet wasn't there had to request one. And the worst part the cockroaches where everywhere.

We checked in late on a Friday evening and found the room to be dirty with stains on the carpet and furniture. The state of the bathroom was worse; peeling wallpaper, a missing light fixture, mold on the air vent, and the kicker was the three roaches crawling around the bathroom floor. We checked out as fast as we could. Don’t stay here.

The property was in very sad shape. I regret that I didn't read current reviews for this hotel. We had a roach infestation in our room. There were many areas of room which had not been cleaned for a long time. The freezer in the small fridge was a big ice block and hadn't been defrosted for a long time. The tub looked awful and was not clean. The hallways had a dingy dirty carpet where there were spills that were never cleaned up and had dirt and particles of whatever sticking to them. It is not the Comfort Suites standards that we have been used to over the years. Will definitely reconsider our investment in Choice Hotels International in the future. Just wished that someone cared like they used to.

The hotel has an awful smell as you entered through the doors. My room #130 smelled as well. One of the couch cushions was missing. The curtains were broken and the desk chair’s arm was hanging off. I had a 3 days reservation. I debated on checking out, but was out most of the day. The next night I returned, the smell in my room was worse, they allowed pets and I realized the heat was on. At 2 am I got up to turn off the heat hoping it would help and noticed something on the floor, at a closer look I saw that is was a bug, then I saw one in the dust ruffle of the bed. I got phone and turned on the flashlight and bugs (probably) cockroaches started moving everywhere. I went down the the front desk, Dale was nice, and gave me another room. I went back to get my stuff. I saw one on the bench my suitcase was on. I grabbed my purse and I came out of my purse, I dumped it on the tile floor and there were 4-5 in my purse. There were several in my suitcase as well. I tried my best to get them out of my stuff. I went up to my new room, 2:30 am now, immediately saw one on the wall and then another by the TV. I took my stuff back down to the desk and said I can’t do this. I checked out, Dale did refund that night and cancelled the next night. I will write Comfort Inn as well, but what harrowing experience.

I am disabled with copd and everyone on the floor I was on smoked Marijuana constantly. It was very hard for me to breathe. I told the front desk and it seemed to get worse. The carpet in the room smelled.

I have lived in the Richmond tri cities area for 40 plus years and moved to the country, for work, about eight years ago. Knowing this as an affluent section of town we were pleased to book a room on such short notice for my upcoming early morning medical procedure. We arrived that evening and were impressed with the lobby with it's half-curved staircase leading to a 2nd floor dining area. We checked in and made our way to our 4th floor room. Opened the door to a spacious room with dirty mirrors, stained couch, and a carpet that hadn't been vacuumed in a while. I went to the bathroom to take a shower and spent at least 10 minutes trying to find the hot setting on the shower control,(I'm a retired plumber with over 30 years experience in the building maintenance field) the shower control shouldn't rotate 360 degrees! We settled in and went to sleep. I woke up and went to the bathroom to wash away the night, and waiting for me on the counter was a nice sized cockroach. Looking around I could see they were in the shower and crawling up the walls. We packed our things and left the room. Reaching the lobby to check-out, there was a bowl with a sign to leave the keycards. I had to enter the "employees only" door to the office to tell the young man with an attitude that I wanted a receipt. A really hard look should be taken at the management (or lack of) of this property!

Only had 2 towels for 3 people. Took over 24 hours before we got more. Kept being told housekeeping was doing laundry. Most of the staff sat on the patio smoking. Also door from pool to outdoors had to stay propped open because room keys didn’t work in the doors. Only positives were the breakfasts and was quiet in our room.

The lack of cleanliness in this property was appalling. A brand Hotel chain of this caliber should be ashamed to offer accommodations with these conditions.There was a plumming access panel in the closet that was left open. There was peeling wall paper, dust and dirt covering the bathroom exhaust fan that didnt work, the bathroom door was covered in dirt, the basboards in the bathroom corners were filthy, and the shower stall barely drained leaving rings in the tub. The conditions are well reflected in the attached pictures. I will never recommend a stay in this property.

Overall it was bad , never had in my life before.

Room was so dirty, side lamp bulb was flickering, carpet was so dirty, bathroom had a old small shower had, not enough water was coming to take a shower even, Water was not enough hot to take shower, overall it was so dirty and I had to change hotel immediately and moved in Holiday inn. Never recommend no one.
