Boy where do I start… we walked into the room and got smacked in the face with the fresh smell of cigarettes and chirping of the smoke detector and the sight of beds with no pillows or blankets. When inquired about the pillows the employee proceeded to give us two pillows for the four residents of the room, and needed to be prompted to deliver the following two. After releasing the contents of our batter we discovered the toilet did not flush and the sink was full of ash (but we did have hella toilet paper). The toilet was fixed by the owner however he decided to leave the dead cockroach next to it. Once opening the fridge we discovered an ecosystem of black mold. Hoping to cleanse ourselves we showered but the towels contained unidentified stains. While removing our belongings from the car we were approached by a wonderful homeless man who must have really loved our brief conversation as he attempted to visit our room at two in the morning. Fortunately the deadbolt worked phenomenally and the windows were unbroken, which we discovered was not true for all the rooms as one had a baseball sized hole. After we managed to fall asleep despite the challenging circumstances our dear friends snoring was interrupted by the blaring of the smoke detector which seemingly no presence of a fire. On a positive note the employee was quite helpful and the owner was fine with us checking out a full day early with no request for financial recompensation.
