A quiet Old Town base: Casa Vitae was fully renovated in 2019 and keeps the Venetian and Ottoman architecture of its era; it is one of the very few detached buildings in the Old Town, with the sights and traditional restaurants a short walk away. Your hosts are available 24/7 with local advice and concierge help.

The space: Bedroom 1 has a double bed and Bedroom 2 has a double bed, for up to 4 guests. There are 2 bathrooms, a sitting room and a fully equipped kitchen with dining area, including an oven, stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and coffee/tea maker. Air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi, a TV and a laptop-friendly workspace are provided, plus a washing machine, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, a safety deposit box, linens and towels.

Guests have Villa Amaryllis entirely to themselves: the private entrance, the sitting room, both bedrooms and both bathrooms, the kitchen and dining area, the terrace and the private swimming pool. Casa Vitae has three villas on different levels, and each one has its own entrance, outdoor area and pool.

We welcome you in person at the villa and hand over the keys, so please let us know your arrival time in advance; check-in is from 15:00 to 23:00. During your stay we are available 24/7 for anything you need, with local advice and concierge help, and we are happy to arrange additional services before you arrive.

Casa Vitae stands in a quiet part of Rethymno Old Town, away from the crowds yet in the heart of the historic centre. The Old Town`s historical sites are on your doorstep, with the Archaeological Museum, the Fortezza (the Venetian castle) a 3-minute walk away; the traditional restaurants serving local cuisine are within walking distance, and the local bus station is about a 10-minute walk away. Rethymno lies in the centre of Crete, a convenient base for seeing the island`s major sights.

The local bus station is about a 10-minute walk from the villa, with buses for exploring the island. By road: Chania airport approx. 65 km, Chania port (Souda) approx. 50 km, Heraklion airport approx. 85 km, Heraklion port approx. 80 km. There is no on-site parking; the property has arranged free parking for guests in nearby parking areas. The Old Town is pedestrian from 1 April to 30 November, so please plan your arrival by car accordingly.

Good to know before booking: Villa Amaryllis is on the first floor. The swimming pool is closed from 31 October to 31 March, children must be supervised at the pool at all times, and no glass is allowed by the pool. Quiet hours are 14:00-18:00 and 23:00-08:00, as the Old Town is residential and sound carries in its narrow lanes. Maximum 4 guests; no smoking indoors, no parties or events, and pets are not allowed. Check-in is from 15:00 to 23:00 and check-out by 11:00. A valid ID or passport is required for every guest at check-in.
