Franklin Cottage is a fully renovated 1920 arts and crafts bungalow located within the historic Red Wing residential district, and only steps away from Red Wing’s Central Park & Historic Downtown. Easy walk to St. James Hotel.

Looking for a romantic escape or a place to relax after outdoor adventures? Or perhaps a place big enough for wedding parties, wedding guests, a girls trip, or colleagues traveling in for work. In any case, Franklin Cottage will accommodate your needs.

The space
As soon as you step inside Franklin Cottage, you will see why it won a Historic Preservation Award. The kitchen blends traditional style with newer appliances & granite island, and you’ll love the master suite & master bath w/ tiled shower. The other guest rooms are also comfortably styled and the additional full bath features an antique clawfoot tub. This home welcomes you with high-quality furnishings throughout, highlighted by original details throughout and modern amenities such as newer kitchen appliances, central heat & air, flat-screen LED televisions, cable, high-speed WiFi and more.

If you're visiting in the summer and fall, we have a well-equipped back porch and outdoor space to grill, relax, enjoy the evening, and play some outdoor games.

In the colder winter months, we have a cozy fireplace, luxurious warm bedding and plenty of indoor entertainment to relax and enjoy after an adventurous day.

Guests will have full access to the first and second floors. The third-floor attic and the basement will stay locked during your stay.

This house is really well kept and a great location. We came to town with a few friends for Big Turn Music Festival. It was about 1/2 mile walk into town for the shows. Everyone has a great bedroom space and a nice open kitchen and dining room make it really easy to spend time. Loved the fireplace and the sun porch for relaxing as well. Will definitely book this place again.

Family wedding weekend

Our family stay in Red Wing for a family wedding was wonderful. The Franklin Cottage was a great location in proximity to the St. James Hotel. The bedrooms were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, the kitchen was well appointed and the gathering areas were ideal for our family of 6. World definitely recommend!

Great location!

Girls Trip

A few friends and I stayed here to surprise another friend who just got married, we hadn’t seen each other in two years and this place was perfect for spending time with each other but also giving us our own space. The house has an old charm to it and is beautifully decorated.

Great location

This property was perfect for our planned activities! We were able to walk to our hiking destination, shopping and restaurants! Red Wing is such a quaint little town! The house is well stocked with all the things you might need. Instructions were easy to understand and very helpful. Communication was very prompt. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the sunroom for our morning coffee and our evening wine/ game playing!

Red Wing Girls weekend

My card, playing group of friends, and I spent the weekend at the Franklin cottage, it was wonderful. We’ve been doing a fall shopping adventure for the past 25+ years. The cottage was clean, very quaint, and easy location to the downtown shops and restaurants. Ron, the property manager was very easy to deal with and very quick to get back to us with one of our concerns. I would recommend this house for anyone wanting to explore the Redwing Minnesota area.

A Red Wing gem

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Franklin Cottage. The location is great—walking distance to Main Street shops and restaurant. The home itself was spacious and comfortable. We had no want of anything. The kitchen is amply supplied—probably the best of any rental at which I’ve stayed. The beds were comfortable. The shower in the primary bedroom had great water pressure and heated up quickly. The whole place was clean and inviting. I would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous home

The house was beautiful, extremely clean, furnished beautifully, loved the kitchen , actually all rooms were really nice. It was just the two of us but it would be great for a large family. Nice backyard that we grilled in and all the extra treats was such a nice touch. Tracy always got back to us immediately if we had questions. Great house also for a dog which is why we first rented this big house but unfortunately ours passed away before we could bring him. Very secluded home, very quiet and close to downtown Redwing. Our son lives in Redwing so plan on renting this home again. Highly recommend this home for your stay. Loved having my coffee in the sunroom each morning. 😊

Red Wing Wedding Visit

We had a fabulous stay at the Franklin cottage. Attention to detail in every room. The bed & linens were wonderful. Loved the “house” tissue holder. (I order 2 when I got home!) Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cookware, etc. Nice snacks, tea, etc too. Plenty of space to enjoy conversations family and food. Our adult son and girlfriend stayed with us for a night after the wedding festivities so we could tour Red Wing. Walking distance to town, restaurants, shops and river. We highly recommend. We were even able to bring our canine companion that loves to travel with us. We can’t say enough good things about this property and the hosts. Thank you for your hospitality!

Clean, comfortable, and cozy house

The property was clean, comfortable, and great location for the activities we wanted to do(hike the bluffs, downtown, Cannon Valley Bike Trail). Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, and cooking supplies. All 3 bedrooms were not to small. They were decent size rooms. Updated furnishings, appliances, and bathrooms. To sum it up it was charming & cozy with modern decor.

Sweet Stay

This getaway was awesome. Visiting Redwing for a wedding and the location was perfect. Easy walking distance to downtown. The house was adorable & VERY private at end of the street. Highly recommend!
