Shinfield sits on the green southern edge of Reading. It still has a village feel, with quiet, leafy streets and fields and footpaths close by 🌳



🌿 Walk the lake and woodland at the University of Reading's Whiteknights campus, or head to Dinton Pastures Country Park for a bigger day out.



🏛️ In town, explore the ruins of Reading Abbey, where King Henry I is buried, and the lion statue in Forbury Gardens 🦁



🍜 Reading has a lively, multicultural food scene, riverside restaurants at The Oracle, and shows at The Hexagon. Every August it hosts the famous Reading Festival 🎶



⚽ Reading FC's stadium is around 5 minutes' drive, and supermarkets and cafés are about a 10-minute walk away 🛒



Getting Around:

🚗 Having a car makes life easiest here, and parking is free. Junction 11 of the M4 is close by for London, Slough and Bristol.



✈️ Heathrow is about 35 minutes' drive.



🚆 Reading Station is around 15 minutes by car, with fast trains to London Paddington in about 25 minutes, plus the Elizabeth line.



🚌 Local buses run into Reading town centre and out to Green Park.
