While it was clean and great staff the hotel is looking tired and not up to the usual Malmaison standards.

Location is good, near to the station and not far from car parks. Easy walk into town and a few bars. On check in they tired to take full payment on my card, despite it already being paid for -so took some discussion and checking and and finally agreed. We had a superior room, but it was just ok! On arrival the bed looked like someone had been lay ontop of it. Bathroom was grubby and only had 1 set of towels, so we had to get extra as there was 2 people staying in the room. It had AC, coffee facilities, iron, haor dryer etc/ We ate dinner in the restaurant and paid that night, on check out they tried to charge us for drinks that they said they didn't add to the bill. Also said we had to pay extra for breakfast which was part of our booking. Again more discussions and waiting around.
Everything went really well. Very close to the train and shops. Clean and very comfy bed. Excellent breakfast
